I started bigadv folding and my first WU is a 6903.

-hugeadv are for dedicated machines most of the time... It takes alot of resources to get one of those out before the deadline to receive bonus points as they are designed for 12t machines.

I would stick to normal -bigadv if you plan to use your machine more then 10hrs in 4-5days

My life.

Except I spend quite a bit more time than five hours per day on the computer, and I still manage to do some good folding.

It looks like it is going to finish in about 5 or 6 days based on the current state of things (given that I fold for 18 hours/day) and the deadline seems to be October 22nd, which is plenty of time.

But that's not taking into account bonus points... so I don't know.

Also, how do I only accept -bigadv (normal) flags? -smp 8 instead of -smp 12?

Thanks.

If you've done the corefix (which I assume since you've got a 6903), remove it and all should be good. And even with the corefix in place you shouldn't do -smp 12 which tries to fold 12 threads on you 2600Ks 8. And that leads to longer TPF (5-7% last I tested to run 12 threads on my X6). A TPF of 72 min will get you under the deadline for bonus but that won't leave any time to download or upload the WU, so a TPF of under 70min should be enough for fastish connection speed. But I wouldn't wanna do a TPF of over 65min really, and under 60 on the 6903 should be safe with the 6904 too. But these WU on these machines really have to be dedicated and def on 24/7.

Thanks. I think I'll fold more this week just to get the WU done and then switch over to normal -bigadv.

I think I like more frequent uploads anyway...once every week or so is a little long for me, I get impatient.

6903's have a 5day deadline for bonus points I'm pretty sure, 6904's are about 5day 16hrs or so...

You can delete the corefix at any time, it won't affect the folding of the 6903 currently underway

Looks like, even if I fold 24/7, I won't finish in time to get the bonus points from this WU, which means I'll have folded for six days straight for like 22k points, according to the bigadv calculator...

So uh, my question would be, how do I a) delete the corefix (I can't seem to find it, just followed instructions on how to get this thing installed), and b) start a new WU. I'd rather not invest any more time in this one. :x

Edit: Nevermind. I just removed the folding at home directory, reinstalled the client and rewrote the corefix to only include 8 threads. Thanks guys.
