Opinions on new build

Thread Starter
So I've got this build in mind and overall I think it looks good. I'm looking at that powerful psu since I will be eventually running 2x 6990's, which I've heard need 1200w to run optimally, and I personally love the look/red led.

Edit: I have decided to go with 2x 6970 for now with after market cooling.

CPU: Will be a BD when it's released. (Top model, I believe 8150, on the 12th?)

Mobo: GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD7
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128508

PSU: Rosewill LIGHTNING-1300w (I've had great luck with rosewill in the past)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817182063

Memory: G.SKILL Sniper Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) x2
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231460

SSD: Crucial M4 128gb SATA III
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820148442

HD: WD Caviar Black 2 TB 6.0 Gb/s (Or the 1 TB x2 in RAID 0, opinions?)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822136792

Case: HAF X (Already bought)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811119225

Fans: Stock 230mm in front, 2 Gentle Typhoons in push/pull on CPU liquid cool. 3x 200mm CM Megaflow red LED (2 on top, 1 on the side). I also have a 3rd Typhoon however I don't believe the GPU fan duct in the case will fit with 6990s.

Sound Card: Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Champion
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16829102021

GPU: Sapphire 6970 2GB x2 for CF(I already have one)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102918

GPU Cooling:ARCTIC COOLING Accelero XTREME Plus II x2 (Will be OC gpu's)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835186048

Monitor: 3 x Samsung 27" S27A350H (I already have 1, getting 2 more for eyefinity)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824001481

Headset: RAZER Carcharias
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16826153043

I have a H60 for CPU cooling, however I will return this if the top model BD does come with its own liquid cooling. I could use some opinions on the sound card and headset. Also does anyone have a good Blu-ray player they would recommend? I was eyeing http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827136226.

There was rumors of it, then AMD denied it, then I saw pictures. So I have no idea if it really will ship with it. I'm personally just waiting the couple days until release to find out. Luckily the H60 I bought can be returned until the end of the month. If it does ship with one I'll return it, if it doesn't then I already have the cooling .

I'd hold off on your build until BD launch. Your build is solid but I wouldn't buy the gun (mobo) until the ammo (proc) for it is proven to kill things (benches).

As of right now no, but I might look into doing that. Might be a better route to sell that 6970 and just get the 6990 right off the bat and add a second one in a month or two. That 6970 is still in the box and never used so I'll let you know if this changes.

Well I will most likely buy the BD no matter what the benchmarks show. Wanting to try out the new stuff and have some fun with AMD. I most likely won't really notice too much in gaming.

I also plan on building an Intel machine whenever the Ivy Bridge comes out.

Excellent selection of parts. I know you have faith in Rosewill, but I've found their products to be a little sub-par.. if I were to get a nice machine like that, the last thing I would cheap out on is a power supply. But once again, it's an issue of personal preference (I've never had any trouble with Corsairs)

You might want to hold off on the mobo/RAM/CPU purchase until Bulldozer benchmarks come out. The ones around here are questionable, I'd wait for real benchmarks from anandtech and other more reputable sources first to get the most bang for buck. If you're still dead set on Bulldozer, I wish you no regrets haha

I know most recommend corsair it seems (from what I've been recommended), but is Rosewill necessarily bad? As said, I've had good luck with them in the past, over about 5 builds. I'm willing to look at others if they are really bad, but I do like the look and red LED on that one, which I admit is a stupid reason to skimp on a psu.

I'm waiting until release before picking up all those parts. I only have a couple of the items so far.
