TEC as a physics project!

So, I'm doing my final college physics project on Thermoelectrics, and have just gotten the go ahead to buy and experiment with TECs :

I need your help with two things, if you wouldn't mind.

First up: I've got this vendor selling them, and my budget will only allow me to spend approximately kr 300. I sure could use some help finding the most suitable TEC for my experiments Size and imput power doesn't really matter (?), so I'm assuming I'm looking for the one with the highest wattage/delta T/max T?

Secondly, I'd love to hear your suggestions as to which tests I could put it through? Obviously, I don't want to fry it on my first attempt

Any help is greatly appreciated!

If you could describe your project it will help.

I don't suggest the highest wattage TECs. You will need to invest some serious power supply and cooling to have it work properly.
For experimenting, you can get small TECs from Ebay (good price), and get a cheap CPU cooler with a larger base block than the TEC to cool the hot side.
For the power supply a computer power will also work. You will have choices of voltages of 3.3V, 5V, 12V and 7V (12V-5V).
