From 3G to 3GS the upgrade was bigger then 4 to 4S. Also iPhone 3G was rocking same slow hardware as the fist iPhone. On top of that 3G got very slow and sluggish something iPhone 4 does not suffer at all so 3GS made a lot of sense.

Let me start by saying I don't own an iPhone, nor Android phone, so you can see I'm a fanboy of neither.

That being said, I find the Android fanboys here to be very contradicting. I've seen all kinds of Android owners jizz in their pants over 25-50% improvements in speeds, or new OS versions, but when an Apple phone comes out with a 700% improvement in GPU speeds, and 200% improvement in CPU speeds it's apparently "not worth an upgrade". Drop the double-standards guys. Besides, most of the iPhone 4 owners are not eligible for an upgrade yet, I would bet that the largest majority of people initially getting the 4S are people with a 3GS or older, or people who don't yet have an iPhone.

And to the comments that they "look identical", really who cares? When I upgraded my PC I kept the same case and swapped out most of the internals. Was that upgrade not worth it because it looks the same on the outside?

I guess fanboys from both camps will always find something to whine about. I have a dream, a dream of an OCN free from fanboys. Psht, like that'll ever happen.

for me personally I've owned iphones since before they were released in aus (where i live ) .. but i have to say recently .. there isn't much reason for me to keep buying the iphone .. first one i had to upgrade because i wanted 3g .. then after all the problems the 4 had .. i wouldn't think of upgrading to one .. and now the androids around are just as good if not better and more reasonably priced here ... sorry but to me apple and iphone are fighting a losing battle

You do realize that Siri wasn't the only change right? Yes, it looks the same as the iP4, but it's completely different inside.

It's only available for 3-year contracts here in Canada as far as I can tell. I'm running an LG Rumor 2 and will be glad to upgrade to the 4S if it's worth it.
