Couple of Xonar DG questions...

Thread Starter
I have a couple of questions with my Xonar DG and hope you guys can help me lol...
First off my setup is 2 front, 2 rear speakers and a small sub..
1. What is PCM and do i need it?
2. What does the virtual 7.1 shifter do? messing with it dosen't seem to do anything at all.
3. What is the point of FleXBass? it just seems to me like it eliminates bass?

Lastly where it says audio channel on the main screen... while i have it set to 2 channel i hear the same thing on front and back speakers and while i have it on 4 channel... i hear nothing. Why is this?

thanks

edit: oh what does SVN do and DSP, HF and GX?

PCM is the type of signal it plays. It's the standard so leave it.

Virtual 7.1 shifter is the Dolby implementation of virtual surround to be complemented with Dolby Virtual Speaker. As it says, it's a tool to shift the virtual speaker positions.

SVN = compress the dynamic range of playback. Sometimes useful for movies, other wise for music, leave this off.

HF = Hi-fi mode, turns every equalizer and DSP off.
GX = Asus implementation of EAX. Hit and miss.
