wait wait wait WHAT YOU SAID CPU NB 1.15V!? ARE YOU CRAZY?
if you want to reach 4GHz JUST FOLLOW THAT it's 100% !

1.45v / 1.4625v TO THE CPU WITH 20X MULTIPLIER
1.65v TO THE RAM (DONT WORRY THIS VOLTAGES ARE IN SAFE ZONE)
1.3V TO THE CPU/NB (FOR 2.6GHz NB!)
AND YOU ARE DONE...

What are your temperatures like?
37.5 c idle temp @ 3.9ghz
54c stress test load @ 3.9ghz

when i tried 4ghz i recorded 40c idle temp but it crashed too soon to record load temp

I said cpuNB @ 1.15v when I am running 2400mhz NB and 3.9ghz cpu, and it is stable at this setting. When I tried your settings of 4ghz I had my NB @ 2600mhz and CPUNB @ 1.3v just like you said above, it doesnt last in a stress test for even 10 seconds.

do what i said... you can't overclock because of cpu/nb voltage... i said the correct one put them all and start the ENGINE...

I appreciate your help but your settings do not work with my hardware. I retried my 4ghz test with the exact settings you just posted and still it crashes within 5 seconds of stress test. 41c is the idle temp. My ram volt was at 1.65 as suggested, and cpu-nb was at 1.3v

here is even a cpu-z screenshot of your settings right before i crashed it with the stress test:

your cpu/nb voltage needs to be increased to 1.27v to 1.35v depending on chip, and the nb voltage on the mobo 1.18 to 1.4v depending the nb chip and cpu

1.15v for cpu/nb is way too low very unstable for 4ghz+ with nb raised

MSI mobo's nb chips on the motherboard have a wide range when overclocking, never really the same just all over the board when it comes to voltage but the cpu voltage should be between 1.42-1.48v, cpu/nb voltage is 1.27-1.35v, and nb is 1.18-1.4v but i have seen as high as 1.5v in higher overclocks

also if your having trouble some chips don't like going over a curtain multiplier try increasing bus speed and decreasing voltage keeping nb the same and cpu/nb the same, for example my chip needs 1.48v for 4.1ghz but 1.42v when i increased the bus speed frequincy instead and lower the multiplier, it just varies on the chip

Also your ram timmings for those should be 9-9-9-24 in bios if not set already

currently they are 9-9-9-25-40-2T (stock recommendation for 800/1600) but I have also tried 9-9-9-24-33-2T and 9-9-9-22-31-2T.

For your recommended 9-9-9-24 would that end in -33-2T?
go with 1.35v to cpu/nb ... and try again ...

try 9-9-9-27-40-2T 1.65v for 1600
