And no Ivy will be a completely new chipset

yeah I just wanted to see if it was enough if i ever thought i needed it, kinda just to be safe.

but what would you prefer for the gtx580's, the evga or the msi lightning.
thanks for the help everyone so far, im about to checkout just need to gather more data or the psu's and gpu's.

i so far have the ax750 , rep will be given after checkout

If you're using 1 card. 650w is enough.

If you do want to stick with 750w I suggest you switch to a TX instead of the AX.
Since you'd be under 80% load anyways for the '80 plus gold' to kick in.

Also. Newegg has 10% off Corsair PSUs for now.

Well as you see in my Sig rig i went with the ASUS DCII, and i love it its a triple slot (if i every wanted to go SLI i could, but i couldnt have anything else on my board, which is not a big deal) and holy moly does this this cool amazingly, when the fans were at 50% it was OC'ed to its max and it was peaking at 62C.

EVGA - amazing company, best customer support (amazing tech support if you ever need it, sometimes i do), but it is a reference card so it does not have the best of cooling and can get kinda hot, lifetime warranty

MSI - they make great non reference cards, but they lack in the customer service department, nice 3 year warranty and it is serial based so it is easier to sell

Asus - Great quality cards, and great customer service (just not up to EVGA's standards) it also has a 3 year warranty and is serial based.

Personally it does not matter that much. If you are new to comps and might need tech support in the future. Get the EVGA. If you dont think so get the ASUS Matrix, and if you dont like the triple slot then get the MSI.

You could air cool, get a cheaper motherboard, and get a 6970 to lower the price.

Stick with nvidia's 570 or 580 for After Effects GPU accelerated effects.

AMD GPUs aren't listed as compatible with their mercury playback engine.

If you want EVGA's lifetime warranty make sure you get the -AR and register it ASAP
