What should I get?

Thread Starter
Well, my laptop is pretty old and the keyboard quit working as well as the fan, it's making noises. So my mom said she might buy me another and her strict limit is $600. I do a lot of gaming so I would like it to have at least a 260m and core 2 duo, or the AMD equivalents. I don't know much about laptops. I have had this one since new in 2006. Any suggestions? Refurbished is ok.

http://shop.lenovo.com/us/notebooks/...x-series/x120e these do pretty reasonable for games and it has thinkpad build quality. Go for the one with the AMD E-350

He said equivalent to an Nvidia 260m right? An E-350 isn't even close.

OP your price range isn't going to help since laptops with better than a 260m are more than 600 right now. You can try for an older Asus G51 on ebay but even they are probably still too high.

I dont know much about the brands for laptops. I just know the well known companies over charge and Toshiba laptops "always" break. xD But here is what I found when I went shopping
http://www.shopping.hp.com/webapp/sh...=dv6zqe_series

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16834215161

The HP is better, and comes with a "free upgrade" for ram (Marketing Gimmick) but it is $50 more and will not go over your budget, unless you include tax.

Hope this helps!

I switch between my ma and pa's house each week. That's why I would like a 17 inch.
