First OC i7-2600k on Gigabyte z68a-d3h-b3

This is my first OC. I've never really bothered to Overclock before, but i got myself a new rig 1 month ago, think its pretty sweet and even got after market heatsink. Here's what i got so far, please help with input. that gigabyte Mobo is a pain in my ... to Oc. Mainly because i have no VCORE option. Its called Dynamic vcore and QPI/vtt voltage.

Rig:
i7 2600k @ 3.4ghz
Gigabyte z68a-d3h-b3 mobo
G.Skillz 1600 mhz 8gig
Sunbeamtech twister 120 cpu cooler heatsink.

So far, i put 40X multiplier, turned off turbo (as i want to test stability with current vcore), set dynamic vcore to -0.040 (gives me 1.26vcore) and let everything else on auto.

So far pretty stable. running prime95 for the last 2 hours, no crash, 62C max temp.

I am sure i am not doing this right, 62c seems high for a 4.0 Gigz OC. I want to bring it to 4.5 stable. With a good temp, ideas?

Update: Ok i upgraded to 4500 mhz. My vcore is 1.36 and VTT 1.100. my 2 last cores were crashing with 1.34 volt. Not sure if it was the voltage, but since i put 1.36, stress test been ok . temp is running at 70C at 100 load. so far... Will let run for the night and hopefully i wont get a crash, still wondering what i could change to make it run cooler but stable

Damn got an error on the 8th core....

that's pretty high temp. 1.35v at 4.5ghz is pretty stable for some, like mine.

Yeah i've been checking the forum. it seems i have to run pretty high. I am at 1.37v now and i haven't crashed any core so far. But problem is the highest temp i got so far is 73 77 76 76 C. Which is way too high for me to be comfortable. Kinda running out of idea's what to do to make 4.5 stable with lower then 70C

BTW, my room is very hot right now. the ambiant temp is not helping i think

Get a better CPU cooler. If you can, go with water cooling. My Corsair h80($80) keeps my 4.5ghz at 50-60C at load. That was when I ran prime 95 for 14 hrs.

Don't really wanna go with water cooling. I guess 75C in full load after 1h isn't the worst it could be. Worst case i will just underclock it to 4.2 or something. Not like any games really need more then 4 gigz anyways.

Quick question, why is my clock speed actually in TURBO and not normal clock? when i check in bios or sentra it says Turbo 45X . But i have turbo disabled. Also the Vcore for turbo is 1.391 as sentra is reporting. Could this be doing my overheating ?

Because i've run prime for last 2 hours, no error. But the vcore is 1.38 and that brings my cpu temp from 73 to 76C after 2 hours. Thats alot. Trying to figure out how to lower that temp
