Intel HD Graphics Help

Hi,

I have a samsung R540 notebook and it uses Intel HD graphics.....
whats annoying is that I can't seem to upgrade the driver from intel's site, the manufactures driver is last years one.. very out dated and I think there is some more performance to be extracted from intel's newer driver it could be that samsung have there own drivers that underclock it to meet battery charge times ect... I tried uninstalling the samsung driver and then installing the newer one from intel but it automatically goes back to the samsung's older version plus intel's ones are the latest so they must be better, any suggestions?

Plus does anyone know how I could (if possible) try to overclock it? I tried looking at GMA booster but they don't list the INTEL "HD" just the 900 and 950 and so on

I'd really appreciate your help thanks in advance

If you've tried newer drivers, its possible you already have the latest one. Notebook GPU drivers really don't get updated all that often. And overclocking on a laptop is generally a bad idea, but can be done SOMETIMES safely. With an Intel IGP, I doubt its going to be very easily possible, if at all though.

Hi sorry about the re-post I guess it was an accident and I didn't see the option to remove one of the posts.......

When you try to upgrade it installs but shows the same old version under device manager's properties it won't upgrade so I cant make use of intel'[s new upgrades, THE LAST UPGRADE ON SAMSUNGS WEBSITE FOR THE GPU DRIVER WAS LAST YEARS ONE... AND INTEL HAS MORE RECENT UPGRADES SO I WANT TO USE THEM

Can't anyone here give me some advice?????
