Probably, but with used/open box parts...

Well, if you're going to be re-using the HDD, chances are it's IDE - which the A75 chipset and boards do not support. You may need to look to socket AM3 this time round.

Single core......

Microcenter has a deal where you get a free motherboard with the purchase of an AMD AM3 CPU. I did a build for a friend a couple months ago using this promotion (they always have it for some reason) and it came out to $280. He reused the old SATA hard drive he had though, everything else was purchased new.

So far out of the 4 x2 555's I have bought from Microcenter, every single one has been able to unlock all 4 cores.

965 BE and MB of your choice (4 too pick from, I recommend the Biostar). $119.99 http://www.microcenter.com/single_pr...uct_id=0325874

Case of your choice: $50, I would recommend the Rosewill Challenger from Newegg. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...G&PageSize=100

2x2GB DDR3 RAM: $25 from lots of places, choose your own

GPU: Choose anything under $30, there is a GT 220 on Amazon for $30

HDD: Your choice, anything under $50. I recommend Samsung Spinpoint drives or Caviar Blue drives.

DVD Drive: Anything, $20

All that is well under $300. use the rest to buy a more expensive video card.
