The Modest Build (M8) - Page 4

I know this is a very old thread, well not that old, but Id like to thank you for making this log, because I am going to copy most of it.

Do you have any pics of the front?

Sadly, no, but the front can be seen in the shot showing the 3 monitors.

This Rig is now in pieces and getting reconfigured with the inclusion of a Pedestal.. Should be done in a couple of weeks or so and I will update this thread.

very nice! are you going to use a single or dual loop?

A buddy of mine is going to order an M8 soon and I was looking at all the build so I know how I can help him plan for his....

how do you like the side mount for the rad? I dont know if I should tell him to go with one of those or not. He likes the space above the mobo that you get with the m8 since it is so much greater than the m10 for use without the additional top.

I am personally only planning to have two rads at first and then when i get a pedastal move them to the top....which you cant do with the m10 from what I understand unless you get the extended top....especially since I will be running ut60s. and get a pedastal for some 140s to cool that GPUs. with a dual loop.

You know, I am thinking about doing a dual loop this time, if anything, just for the fun of it.

The side mount has now been moved down to the pedestal, but I liked it. It will just involve a bit more planning when routing the tubing. The thickness of the rad and where you will have the fans on the rad will play a large part too. It can certainly get tight.

My goal with this new config is to have all of the visible tubing (MB side) be in vertical straight lines, so we will see how that goes. The orientation of the block replacing the EK block may have that off a bit, but I haven't put it in place yet to know for sure. The tubing will also be black this time around.

The old jalopy has gotten what will be its last update. It’s a relatively small one with a few additions here and there. This will have to hold me over until something new is released. I planned on a TH10/3960/680 build but have been left underwhelmed by the performance increase, and since AMD isn’t doing a damn thing to make Intel push the envelope, that may be the case for a while.

Again, nothing major here. Added a pedestal, threw in some Monsoon fittings, a MIPS MB block, and changed the CPU and GPU blocks to Heatkillers.
