CM Spawn or Xornet; what are the differences? - Page 13

Surprising results.

I thought the Xornet would have a better max control speed.

Shape wasn't mc yup of tea anyway so I'm also stuck and wait for Kana and AM.

Can you do a few fast "180 turn" swipes with Outerspace MouseLog running in the background and post the resulting log file here? It would also be important to post which DPI and polling rate were used for the test.

xornet is reliable for low sens play only when used on lighter colored surfaces, taito is black so there.

same thing for mx518 1800dpi - huge feet version, it can handle long fast swipes only on light colored pads ( like my red hien VE ) and only on low dpi like the old small feet version.

For Xornet owners, we will be putting the firmware pack up very shortly on the cmstorm.com website. We have several firmwares which lower LOD and also jitter depending on surface type. Stay tuned.

I uploaded the Wav files. I don't have Audition installed so if someone can upload the pictures and explain them it will be great. Using 500 DPI with 500Hz. When completed the program said something like polling 1 ms. I don't know why that is but i was using 500hz.

Also with the "tape fix" i reduced the LOD to 3CD and it seems the malfunction speed is the same. I thought it will lower the maximum speed, but obviously i know nothing about sensors biggrin.gif

Until they it goes live.

Here is 2 different firmwares:

V50 - Stock
V52 - Best LOD on both Black and White surfaces
V55 - helps with jitter issues and low malfunction speed.

The max perfect control speed in your data is 3.23 m/s for 500 CPI/500 Hz, but the movement looks a little weird - either you have an immense stopping power or you were hitting the pad edge and running out of mousing surface (or even that there is some skipping around max perfect control speed, but this is just speculation). Also, although the data isn't yet very conclusive, I suspect the Xornet uses the same MCU as the Spawn (with the same max perfect control speed limitations) because those two paralel spikes both registered a value of 127 counts.

It's strange because mouse sends two counts every 4ms, this means that it's fake 500Hz and it's only 250Hz in reality.
Best result is ~3m/s, worst 1.8m/s
This irregularity in the middle is not negative accel, skipping or a problem at all.

Does this mean...there are drivers for the Xornet now?

I wasn't running out of surface. When i do these "180 spins" in the end i lift the mouse to reposition. I should say everytime i did the spins i hit the malfunction speed, so maybe that's why the graphs stop so sudden. Nevertheless this doesn't happen with the Sidewinder (A6010). I can make that one skip in desktop when i try my best, but never in game with these spins.

Both "dx_mouse_timer_dialog.exe" and "UsbRate.exe" report a ~500Hz rate. I can't explain the 1.8-3.2 m/s variations.
