CM Spawn or Xornet; what are the differences? - Page 15

The left side is 1000 dpi and the right side is 500 dpi for each box. The jitter is very minor and virtually non-existent on 500 dpi, so I find the grey supermat and/or beta firmware works quite well. Keep in mind low sensitivity with 52/55 and 1000 dpi might not have the tracking speeds you want if you try low sensitivity for whatever reason. The jitter is also a bit dependent on the surface so hard pad users are likely to have little to no problems.

I'm hard to satisfy and even I find the xornet quite useable. After I finally get used to 500 dpi vs 400 on the intellimouse, the feel is already great. I don't use the deathadder because it is too heavy to be nimble with whereas the xornet/spawn are reasonable weight. These CM storm mice, the spawn/xornet, are certainly the best quality mice for their price. Less than $30 for all high quality omron switches, alps mechanical scroll and materials is an amazing deal. Another thing I noticed is the buttons not being apart of the shell makes a nicer soft click compared to a lot of recent mice. thumb.gif

So this mouse is probably awesome for low sensitivity players on an Artisan Shiden or Shiden Kai, right?

Nope. They feel like 100% PTFE, rounded edges.

It is a supermat rebrand I think. Either way, it is what I ordered and it works.

Probably but I can't 100% say how the performance is for those mousepads. So far it seems lighter colored mouse pads (at least for cloth users) are the way to go for the 3050 sensor.

I just ordered a Xornet and a Shiden XSoft, so hopefully I can let you know by next weekend.

i got the xornet awhile back but did not have time to use it until recently. this is just my mini review using it in game (stalker, fallout 3, oblivion).

liked:
light mouse after using cordless for some time now.
didnt have any tracking issues.
glides well (but see below for hien hard users)
price
feel of the grip is different but still good

some issues i had:
using this with a hien hard pad which has a somewhat rough texture feel. if the cord touches the pad, the friction causes the mouse to move slower (less glide)
you have to keep the cord elevated or some how make it so that the cord does not touch the pad. again this is just for the hien hard pad so it may be a
non-issue if you have some other pad. i attached the cord to my monitor to keep it elevated but the noise of the cable hitting the monitor after fast movements made me crazy.
i looked at ebay for mouse bungees and decided to buy one today. it is the original version not the razer one.

for some reason i keep hitting the second mouse button. i think my hand needs to adjust to the new mouse,

just a personal preference but i wish it was like a 1/4 inch taller and a bit more rounded.
