CM Spawn or Xornet; what are the differences? - Page 21

Now that I have the Handstands Grey Supermat v55 firmware. This mouse is back to pretty much flawless!!!!!!!!!!!! LOD issue solved and fast swipe glitch solved
post #202 of 273
I just received a Xornet. The tests were performed with firmwares v50, v52, v55 on a QcK and a X7 (both black cloth pads). I was honestly expecting a lot better results given that the Spawn is almost decent. The results are actually appaling. No matter what firmware or pad, there was severe skipping around 1.5 m/s. You can get some decent "max speed" readings in Enotus, but those are just erroneous readings caused by the mouse skipping. The sensor will actually crap out around 1.5 m/s no matter what firmware or pad. I can easily make it skip and I am a high sens player (15 cm/360). This problem is not "firmware fixable" as this is just a bad sensor/lens implementation. As a side note, the lens is very poorly designed, because the light beam from the LED hits the pad surface in such a (wrong) way that when lifting the mouse it will illuminate the pad surface *better* (more centered on the sensor area) than when the mouse is resting on the pad - test done with a blank sheet of paper overlaid over the sensor area with the sensor facing towards yourself.

I have to agree with bkraptor. I tried v53 and v55, the ones Cooler Master recommends, and I'm sending the Xornet back to Amazon today. It doesn't hold a candle to my trusty MX-518; jitter at low speeds and poor LoD. This was on a Razer Scarab pad, which should work really well since most claim the Xornet sensor likes light-colored pads. My search continues.

I measured using Outerspace mouse logger and then analyzed the results with Excel.

This is my outerspace logger thing for my Xornet. Does it also show skipping?

Also how to do open Vx_Vy_NF in Excel?

It's hard to tell as you can see. You need to do what F u r u y a did here "In order to verify how far it is from what it should be (and to take into account the polling rate variation) here's the Counts per Second plot with a curve fitted through polynomial regression:" or something like that tongue.gif

I would say No but you should rather check that in game.

I would say that your mouse is not skipping in that graph as you can almost make out a smooth curve by averaging all the micro-spikes to create a trend. It's not perfect but it isn't skipping either.
