CM Spawn or Xornet; what are the differences? - Page 22

hey, just thougt that i'd post my experiences with this mouse smile.gif
got it exactly a week ago, put it in, upgraded to firmwarew v55 and am loving it on a RAzer Goliathus Control right now (i'll get Puretreak Stealth sometime in the near future)
deafult polling rate is 1000hz which is good, i can switch the DPI easily from 2000 to 1000 to 500 with the twoo buttons underneath the scroll wheel (i'm using 1000 dpi)
the sensor seems rally awesome, i have no troubls with it, the mouse shape, while being extremely small, is very comfortable which surprised me biggrin.gif
the omron switches feel great, especially for RTS games. the rubberized coating is prsonal preference, i like it.
negative points are the build quality (a bit), like when i touch the mouse slightly, i hear noises, you know what i mean^^ tbh i don't expect more from a 18€ mouse

"Based on our internal testing and beta trials we recommend Firmware v55
According to our testing it works best on black or white weave mousepads"

I don't get it, is there any difference between the beta firmware pack and the official one that got released one month ago ? http://www.cmstorm.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3296

my xornet skipped very easily on pretty much any pad of my collection exception hien VE - red , but i prefer the friction of my hien hard black, should i download the official pack and give it another shot ? btw i just found out that its polling rate is adjustable on the fly !

" Xornet supports USB Polling adjustments on the fly!
Simply hold both thumb buttons pressed at the same time and then push the DPI up or DPI down button.
The DPI up button is the first button below the Scroll Wheel, and the DPI down button is located right below it.

1000Hz 1ms (default)
500Hz 2ms
250Hz 4ms
125Hz 8ms

Those are all the firmwares ever released for the Xornet. The "official" pack only contains those firmwares.

no dice frown.gif

stills skips on hien black

it doesn't skip on hien red VE, but the amount of neg accel is HUGE, it actually registers a 180 turn instead of a 360 one, how did they manage to f*ck up the tracking so bad on both xornet and spawn ? my zowie AM is leaps and bounds better tracking wise.

I am a huge fan of the CM Spawn.

I have very good aim in FPS games and the CM Spawn increased my accuracy a lot.

At first the mouse was arkward to hold but then I stopped trying to grip with my ring finger and it became comfortable.

What I care about most of all right now is how the sensor in the Xornet compares to the sensor in the Spawn.

ADNS-3090 = CM Spawn

ADNS-3050 = Xornet

Can someone please tell me which is better and why?

I currently use 3 windows sense, 1800 DPI 250hz and it gives me what I believe is the most accurate translation of movement from my hand to the game.

Simply, why should I want to use the ADNS-3050 over the ADNS-3090?

You shouldn't.

Your setting is pretty much the best for Spawn. I use this too.
But why do you think that? What did you base your decision on?

How do the sensors actually compare?

Everything is already on the forum. Spawn has best max speed at 125Hz but 250Hz feels much better and max speed is still quite good. 800 CPI isn't working as good as 1800 CPI and 3/11 setting is good method for cutting 1800 CPI to something more usable in game. ADNS-3050 isn't tracking as well as ADNS-3090, but theoretically it has higher max speed.
