ASRock Z68 Discussion/Owners Club - Page 11

So with the name that ASRock has been making for itself lately, I've been thinking of buying an ASRock board for my upcoming Sandy Bridge gaming system. I will be using the i5 2500K with a single GTX 570 for now. I do plan on getting a pretty high overclock on the chip so a good overclocking board is a must. Support for SLI down the road is a must as well. What do you guys think best suits my needs? I've been looking at the Extreme3 Gen3 since in this thread alone it seems to be a popular board.

I just ordered one from superbiiz right here:
http://www.superbiiz.com/detail.php?name=MB-Z68E3G3

If you use the code HOOT you get an extra $10 off bringing the total to $115.

There are a few issues with this board, mostly discussed here, however.

No disrespect meant for you posting the bios, just relaying my bad luck After leaving the battery out for a few hours I was able to flash back to the original bios and everythings good. And I STILL can't get this Extreme 7 board to post. I'm waiting for a reply from the seller as what to do next. And the saga that is my life continues..

Have any of you all dealt with Asrock support before? If so how easy are they to deal with? Looks like I'll be contacting them to RMA the Extreme7. My only problem is I have no invoice seeing as I bought a used board. In the past Asus has always worked with me so hopefully Asrock will do the same.

When I go over x42 in UEFI computer will not boot with code 70. I have tried voltage of 1.300 when trying to get 4300 but it has not helped. I have not touched any memory settings.

Even the auto function of 4400 hangs up on boot with code 70, did I just get one awful chip?
My 2500k won't post at 4.4ghz.

I get the EXACT same code, 70, which is: "South bridge initialization started."

I think there are batches of crappy 2500k chips going out. Tends to happen later in the life of certain chips.

Note that it's completely stable at 4.3ghz for me.
