Sorry for the n00bish question but should I change the setting other than the stock settings in LinX?
Yea those are getting pretty warm for everyday/24-7 use IMHO ... I've been debating what is 24/7 stable, or acceptable for a machine's dedicated use since the "socket 754/478" days :O ... munaim1

... 1/4 way down 1st post ...
Also you can experiment with the "problem size/ram usage" in LinX but it won't make a huge difference in the overall stress temps ... I've been using LinX 0.6.4 64bit (same settings) and @4.8ghz I'm not pulling the Gflops(load) you are (more like 70Gflops) and consequently not getting the high temps you were getting (mine@mid60'sc) ... I need to investigate this further? I know everything else seems to be working great as I did a full comparitive Crysis bench suite against my old 965BE and the 2500K is just raping the 965BE @ maxsettings getting overall 20-25FPS more!
I always find these useful and interesting!
thanks ... and nice chip ehhh!

Personally I've never dealt w/ASR for RMA (good thing?) In NAmerica they are located in Cali, call them and see how they make you feel?
[Chino, CA Phone: +1-909-590-8308] ... Like you, I've read a lot of controversial stories and was having 2nd thoughts. Really liked eVGA/XFX in the past because of their customer service!!!
No one comes close, but they just didn't step up to the table quick enough for 1155? And Asus's CS is also pretty dodgy these days. With ASR's feature set/price! I decided to take a leap of faith, and couldn't be happier. It seems with the 1155 platform, more than others, either you get a good board or you don't and major trouble shooting has limited success with ANY vendor! You seem to have a happy/stable board since August? Need I say more ... swap it for an Asus if it will give you piece of mind :O The 2 year extended warranty? so you can exchange it with Microcenter instead of ASR??? Do it if it gives you piece of mind, but I certainly wouldn't. ASR is a VERY reputable company on the rise! and I wouldn't let a few horror stories detract from that ... you can find just as many similar stories with Asus, Et. Al. ... hope that helps Edited by TomcatV - 1/9/12 at 11:00am
