Ok here are my current Cpu settings. As of right now I'm personally not interested in any of the power saving features (unless its really inportant to have them on). I was planning on setting up bios to run w/ all power saving features off at stock speed for now and then change the setting needed later for overclocking. What else should i mess w/ to get it running at 33 multi w/ no power saving features? Just not sure if any other voltages should be on manual. Thanks

I just ordered the Asus XONAR DG 5.1 and I'll let y'all know how it sounds once I get it installed. $12 with the rebate it's worth a shot. With a pretty high quality 2.1 setup the reviews says it's a great bang for the buck card. I didn't see a reason to step up to a more expensive card until I get a 5.1 speakers. thumb.gif

Well I got it in and all I have to say is WOW!! Definitely a significant difference over the onboard audio. I didn't think the onboard audio was really that bad. The Realtek settings were kind of mushy and I wasn't going to upgrade to the TruStudio software since I had a feeling a dedicated card was better anyways. Only thing is you might have to spend some time setting your own equalizer settings, the presets are rather drastic. This along with MOG is great! I've tried five different sites for on demand music and MOG is best by far.

Told ya! Onboard sound still won't compare to a good dedicated sound card! I don't know how anyone runs off that nasty thing on any board to be honest. tongue.gif

I'm pretty picky about listening to music and hearing great quality. I won't listen to music if it's poor. I'm still really impressed with these Sony speakers I'm using from a desktop I bought in 2004. And with this sound card I'm really impressed considering who little I have wrapped up into it $$-wise. I know it can be better, but it's damn good all things considered.

If you have decent speakers, it CAN be better! You won't be disappointed.

Hi guys

Im making the transfer from amd to intel and i really like the look of this board, it seems to get mixed reviews some say its great and other say it can be problematic but i guess anything can be really smile.gif

Just wondered if this would be a good upgrade from my current amd setup and if anyone could put my mind at ease regarding buying this board over the asus p8z68

Thanks again

Liam

I came from an AMD FX setup, to the extreme 4 gen 3 and a 2600k and couldn't be happier. My games run better, my system no longer randomly crashes (had a asus crosshair V that died on me after 4 months of use, and asus is being a royal pain about replacing it) and just overall ease of install and setup was great. You'll see much better benchmark scores as well as should be able to feel the all around better system response over your current AMD setup. Hope you enjoy your (possible) new setup as much as I do mine! happy upgrading!

Howdy folks.

Recenlty got my new Extreme3 Gen3. (with a 2500k of course). Pretty happy with it thus far, running at 4 ghz, everything on auto with my newb oc-ing skillz. Perhaps I'll do some more oc later, but first I'm just browsing the guides, because I'm not very familiar with Intel cpu-s as I have owned AMDs mostly.

But I do have one question about LLC. When a guide says "set your LLC to high", does this mean that I need to set it to Level 5 or Level 1? (did I mention that i'm a newbie?)
