Make sure everything is plugged in right and that your audio drivers are working fine. May need to reinstall drivers as they could have gotten buggard up.

Sounds like your front panel audio header might be misbehaving. Make sure it's plugged in properly on the mobo, if it's loose might explain why windoze is complaning about plugged/uplugged thing, and make sure you didn't accidentally plug it in one the usb headers, they have the same number of pins just differently arranged, although this would actually be silly if it happened.

Hi all, I just recently put together a new rig with a 2500k and an Asrock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3.

I just want some sort of reference for me to compare temps with. Im currently still running stock clocks, cooled with an H80. Im getting 33-35 degrees idle on the cores, while under full load the temps top out for a few seconds at a time at 60-61, then averages around 52-55. It reaches 60 every once in a while but it never stays there long.

Are my temps normal? smile.gif

i checked the plugged a lot of time...its everything well plugged...i took half a day to assemble everything, very carefully...
i show you some pics:

450
450
450

BUT NOTHING TO DO...
BTW THIS IS NOW THE SITUATION:

Just reiinstalled latest Realtek drivers:
If i left something connected to the GREEN plug of the mobo windows start to say: plugged/unplugged and i can hear some noise from the speaker as something plug/unplug but nothing else.

I just unmounted and mounted all the mobo so i hardly belive that something its bad placed...

any other though pls?????
PS: when there is nothing on the green everything works fine and the systems still see an audio working properly...

Cheers mate...save me!!

It will depend mostly on ambient temperature as you will never hit lower than ambient on air tongue.gif but those temps look fine though I would double check if the seating is right on the cooler. If you put thermal paste yourself try to put a small dot in the center of the CPU. For me I am using an H50 w/ push/pull Noctua fans. I get about 30C~ idle, 50-60C load, 70~ prime95, 75+ IBT and thats on a small dot using NT-H1 thermal paste plus thats overclocked to 4.5GHz@1.328v. Make sure the pump is running at full speed or if you connect it to your motherboard to set it to "Full On". Temps should be a little lower if its stock clocks, also use CoreTemp or RealTemp for your programs as the motherboard/bios can sometimes give off wrong readings.

Is everything stock in BIOS? are you using the latest BIOS as well? Try to uninstall your drivers then use Driver Sweeper to clean out the RealTek drivers:
http://www.guru3d.com/category/driversweeper/

After that download the latest one from RealTek's website and not the one from ASRock's.

Many thanks for the tips. I already reseated the cooler. My assumption was I put a little too much thermal paste.

Anyway I reaseated and was able to bring down load temps by about 4-5 degrees. Win!
