What luck we're having..my Extreme 7 Gen 3 just lost one of the pcie slots frown.gif Was gaming and all of a sudden I lost sound. Restarted and no sound. I thought my soundcard died so I plugged it into the other rig and it worked. Moved a video card into the slot and it's not recognized.
I've always supported Asrock but after all the recent issues I'm having my doubts. My Extreme 4 Gen 3 has been acting very flaky recently and now this happens. Was going to buy a new monitor but looks like I'll be buying 2 new boards.

Wow. Well, hi all. I just got a z68 Extreme3, setting it up, playing with it, have not yet installed in case, benching mostly. The above is somewhat disconcerting, this is my first ASRock mobo, I've used gigabyte over the past few years, and other mobos when I was an AMD user in the pre-C2D days.

Anyway, I posted elsewhere, so maybe I'm double-posting, but I'm stumped by Virtu. Briefly, I appear to have everything set up right, dedicated video card, Virtun sotware installed, dedicated + Intel graphics showing up in device manager. I've added 3dmark 06 and Handbrake to the list of Virtu programs. But when I enable Virtu, my performance on both 3dmark 06 and Handbrake slow down significantly, and do not improve or remain unchanged. In some of the performance reviews I've seen of Virtu, it appears to have no effect of performance of games. So what is up with this program? How do I get the benefit of the SB graphics with this chipset? What I read of Virtu all sounds like manufacturer's hype, and not really a critical review or a how-to guide.

Anyone? What am I missing here. Thanks.

POSSIBLE SOLUTION - I may have the solution, my temporary video card does not meet minimum specs for this to work. I have GeForce GTX Ti 560 to put in there, that should meet minimum specs. I'll try that.

Has anyone setup raid 0 on their extreme3 gen 3? I'm trying to setup raid 0 with two 120gb ocz agility drives. I set both drives to "raid mode" in the bios, but once I try to install windows and load the raid drivers from a usb, I'm getting an "unsigned driver" problem. Basically it says that for setup to continue, I must load signed 64bit drivers.

well started playing w/ overclocking on my 2500k. I did a short test w/ 40 multi, 1.20v in bios, LLC level 3, and it passed the first test prime 95 12k, Max tem for 40 multi was at 67c.

Then i did 42 multi and it looks like it will pass the first test @ 1.25v in bios but as prime 95 is working the multi will still fluctuate between 40 and 42.

Just doing short test w/ prime 95 to help dial in vcore.

At 4.2ghz Core temp is reading my VID at 1.3811v and cpuz load is between 1.152 and 1.160.

Anyone know why the multi is still fluctuating w/ all power saving features off? It only did this when set to 42 but at 40 it stayed locked during prime 95.

Im probably going to have to switch to offset anyway due to idle temps

What is the wattage limit at? may need to increase that.

Also make sure power saving in Power Options is on High Performance.

If you want the multiplier to stay at x42 then you can turn off Intel Speed Boost which will keep it locked.

Considering either ASRock Fatal1ty Z68 Professional Gen3 or ASRock Z68 Extreme7 GEN3 as a refresher of my asus sabertooth. Anyone with experience with both Asus and ASRock? Your advice would be greatly appreciated. Ive also seen alot of people complaining about the stability, does this inculde all ASRock Z68, or just one, in which, is it any of the listed above?

Thanks

Been loving my Extreme 3 gen 3. Only gripe which is my own fault is that didn't get a mobo with a front set of USB 3.0 ports.

On fixed w/ speedstep off i only have the core limit which i has at 250.

Where is the power saving option "high performance" i didnt see that.

I have disabled spread spectrum, PLL overvoltage, speedstep, C1, c3 and c6, and c state support is on auto. I do have cpu throttling enabled but i was only getting up to 68c..

It will stay locked up to 40 multi but then when set at 42 it will fluctuate between 40-42 multi
