guys, what about the bloatware from ASRock. I know all this sound nice in paper but what about real world.

I'm not planing to use SSD for caching so i presume I should't install Intel Smart Response Technology? Can Intel Smart Response Technology be used with SSD that is used with TrueCrypt?

What about XFast RAM and XFast USB? are these bug free and are there any real improvements with normal PC usage (games, internet, movies...)?

As I understand XFast RAM creates some kind of a RAM temp/virtual disk? Is it flushed after restart/shut down of the computer? I'm asking cos I will use TrueCrypt on all of my drives including SSD (Samsung 64gb 830) for system (Win7)?

I'll have 2x4gb of RAM.

cheers.

Every Z68 board has SRT as far as I know.

I use XFast USB, and it definitely increases the transfer speed, no idea on XFAST RAM as the way I understood its mainly for those using a 32bit Windows OS.

On the ASRock E3G3 motherboard does anyone know what the #3-PWR_FAN1 is normally used for?

I have four fans in my Antec 300 case which are two front as intake, one top and one rear as exhaust.

Adjusting the fan speeds using AXTU I noticed that the #3-PWR_FAN1 isn't on the list of fans to be controlled.

AXTU fan speed control and location:

AXTU ID MB LOCATION Phy Fan Location

CHASSIS FAN1 9-CHA_FAN2 LOWER FRONT CASE
CHASSIS FAN2 23-CHA_FAN1 UPPER FRONT CASE
CHASSIS FAN3 41-CHA_FAN3 BACK CASE

3-PWR_FAN1 TOP CASE FAN IS NOT CONTROLLED BY AXTU (Tri Cool fan controlled by switch)

Hmm, I had my text format spaced out to make it more readable but they get stripped off.

Anyway does anyone see any issue's in the way I have the fans hooked up?

EDIT: I found that I can control the fan speeds in BIOS. Lol!

I few addition questions guys, please help.

what do you think about this RAM(s) for Z68 Extreme4 Gen3:

Kingston HyperX Genesi DDR3 1600MHz 8GB (2x4GB), CL9 DIMM, Intel XMP, KHX1600C9D3X2K2/8GX
G.SKILL Sniper serie PC-12800, 8 GB, F3-12800CL9D-8GBSR (1.5 V), DDR3 1600MHz, kit 2x4GB
MUSHKIN FrostByte PC-12800, 8 GB, 996988, DDR3 1600MHz, kit 2x4GB
MUSHKIN Redline FrostByte PC-14900, 8 GB, 997007, DDR3 1866MHz, kit 2x4GB

Should I try to get the lowest possible voltage RAMs or it doesn't matter? I read somewhere on the forum that some 1,65V RAMs have problems?
Also do you recommend 1866mhz memory or I should't bother?

should I use additional molex plug on the board if use 9800GT for PPU? should I even bother with this PPU? I use it on my current setup basically for
Mafia2 and Batman games.

And one more thing, I just checked out the Ext4 manual and as I understand I have 2 options in BIOS for SATA controllers. I can set Marvell controler to IDE or AHCI and all other controllers (SATA3 non-Marvell and SATA2) to IDE, AHCI or RAID. My problem is that I have:

1x SSD - I want to keep this one in AHCI on non-Marvell SATA3 for system disk (Win7)
1x SATA DVD/RW - I can have this one as IDE or SATA I don't care
2x 320gb SATA2 HDDs - as RAID0
1x 1000gb HDD - as AHCI

The Problem is if I set Marvell to AHCI to use it for DVD/RW and 1x1000gb HDD I can't use the other 2 SATA3 controllers as RAID cos I need to keep it on AHCI for the SSD. I don't get it, why they didn't make additional options/split SATA connectors or em I missing something here? What's the point of so many connectors if I can set only one option :-(?

you can set it to raid, and still use the ssd individually, it will essentially function in AHCI mode that way. if you plug a single drive into a raid controller it will still function as a single drive.

Is marvell controller working properly with SSDs? Cos I think I have seen at few places that it is better not to use it for SSD drives cos It's "slower" and has more bugs?
cheers.

edit: what about setting these 2 HDDs in RAID. should I do it from BIOS/DOS (is that even possible on this board/chipset?) or from inside windows using intel program (never tried this option in my life).

edit2: hm, actually I don't think creating RAID in OS is smart (if even possible) cos that would meen that the array is working only when inside OS which means if OS corrupts everything is gone?
