Does anyone else with a Extreme3 Gen3 notice that the LLC levels 2-5 don't do anything? They all keep everything the same except level 1 which does what it is supposed to by making load voltage go above idle voltage.

I have the latest beta bios which is L1.30G from March 5, 2012 and have tried all previous ones before that.

Hello everyone ,

I have a strange problem with my over clocking set up. My pc is used as a workstation and it renders a lot of
3d visualization, so i have many hours of 100% load. I never had any problem, i get stable 1.368V at 4.8ghz.

However I get blue screens sometimes on idle situations when I am just browsing the net , chat on skype etc..

Could this mean the voltage is too low when idle? or that it doesn't follow the scaling of the multiplier so on an
jump of the multiplier it doesn't reach the 1.368 needed?
Anyone that had any similar issues i would love to hear your points on this one...its very frustrating getting blue screens "out of the blue" tongue.gif
when on full 100% load for hours on end is always fully stable.

If you're OCing by Offset you may need to put more voltage in or you may have to change your LLC which is anywhere from overvolt (level 1) to big vdroop (level 5). I personally have it on 2 but its all about preference.

Hi all. I've got a z68 Extreme3, and using the sata cables that came with the mobo, I've had trouble connecting both of the sata 6.0 ports. Initially, when I had this on the bench, I had some older sata cables attached to these two sata 6.0 ports and had absolutely no problems, but suddenly I'm getting problems. These are not easy to remove and change once they are in the case, so I probably won't get around to making changes until tomorrow evening, but has anyone had problems with these cables or these ports? thanks.

I do overclock by offset and i had it on +.45. I have made it up to +0.50 now, i also has the LLC on level 2 which seems the most reasonable
in most situations... hope the little change will make the difference...

Do you have C states enabled? Try disabling them. Currently I am at 4.6 @ 1.36 VCore with offset. LLC of 4 and +.010. Everything was working great. I tried messing with mine the other night and enabled the C states to see how it would react. It knocked down my idle VCore to around .97-.98 when it was previously at about 1.01-1.02. I didn't get BSOD's but it did lock up 3 times in a matter of 2 days at idle. I disabled them again and everything is fine. It's an easy way to add or knock of about .04-.05 volts at idle without changing any of your other settings.

I have ASRock Z68 Extreme 3 Gen 3 with 2500K incoming. Quick question to you club members: can someone point me to an oveclocking guide, preferably done on this motherboard? I would really appreciate that. Never done SB overclocking before, and i heard it's quite different than older I7s overclocking.

hi everyone.

I have found some new data on the matter of having truecrypt encrypted OS (win7). it is stated on a few places that this cannot function (not able to boot?) with UEFI, and as I understand Extreme4 Gen3 is an UEFI mainboard doh.gif?
can anyone confirm that you have truecrypt encrypted win7 on UEFI mainboard (ASRock Z68) and boot without issues?
thanks.
