You will need to send them a copy of your receipt/invoice before they send you an RMA form. Fill out the form, send it back to them and they should give you an RMA number shortly. Hope this helps thumb.gif

I called this number today and indeed it is ASRock USE (no offense Goodfella, but I like to check thing out). So is there any way to make this a sticky, as I know sometimes these phone numbers are hard to find.

No offense taken brother biggrin.gif That number is listed on their website as a "sales and marketing" contact, but it's fine to call that number for an RMA. They also have email support but I read several stories around the web of it being slow to respond. I know that between the time I called the phone number and being issued an RMA# all it took was a little under 2 hours. I also got email updates when they received the bad mobo and also got one when they shipped out the replacement. ASRock really stands behind their products and I will continue to support them in the future thumb.gif

Hey guys!

Couple quick questions. I started reading this entire thread from page #1 and go up to page 28.....but plan on reading every single page.

From what I have read is , there really is no difference between the Extreme 4 and 7 except for the 7 you can go 3-way sli....correct? Is there any other small benefits the Extreme 7 may give over the 4?

Also....I know this is the "Z68" Asrock thread , but since there really isn't a Z77 ( not that I saw?) Asrock thread , i thought I would ask this here....

1.) The new Z77 Extreme 6 is looking pretty sexy.....has anyone tried it here yet?

2.) Also.....do you think Asrock will be coming out with a Z77 Extreme 7? It isn't listed on their site yet.....but I would think it will probably come eventually correct?

And one last question......how does the fata1ity board compare to the Extreme 4 , 6 and 7 ? I have read nothing but great things about that board as well.

All I know is.....when I get ready to finally plop down the cash for a new board ( waiting to see what the Ivy cpu's are going to perform like and the costs. ) .......when I buy a board....it'll be an Asrock. !!!!

Call me old and slow but I just figured out that CPU_FAN2 is tied to CPU_FAN1 though the motherboard manual doesn't mention it. redface.gif

This is true for all ASRock Z68 motherboards except a couple.

I have thought since it was a 3 pin it would run at a static speed.

If I had looked in BIOS or the ATXU utility I would have seen that there is no control for CPU_FAN2. doh!

Anyway I'm using CPU_FAN2 connector to control the rear exhaust fan. When the CPU_FAN1 speeds up, so does my back case fan around 50 rpms of each other. I could swap the two fans so the faster one is the exhaust but the small difference in speed doesn't motivate me to do it.

Also I connected a top front fan in my Antec 300 case to a pwm connector so it speeds up with the CPU fans.

I have pretty good air flow from bottom to top.

Cpu fan 1 uses PWM control and Cpu fan 2 runs with voltage control but they do work together, something like this :
0 % PWM on header 1 = 0 V on header 2
50 % PWM on header 1 = 6 V on header 2
100 % PWM on header 1 = 12 V on header 2

Chassis fan 1 also uses PWM control, chassis fan 2 & 3 headers use voltage control. If AXTU is not enough then all headers except chassis fan header 2 and pwr fan header can also be controlled with Speedfan, at least on Extreme Gen3.

The Z68 exteme7 has IMO, a better secondary Sata3 6/GB controller Asmedia vs Marvel ... many would also say it has a little better power-phase control over the Z68 Fatality, but both boards are "rock-solid" clockers! ... It almost comes down to what color scheme you like better :O

2)I'd be very surprised if they came out w/Z77 E7 as the Z77 Fatality Pro pretty much fills that niche?, but alot of people like the traditional Black/Gold ASRock look, including me smile.gif ... AND I almost forgot according to my bios in the "System Browser" (neat feature!) it says there is the new ... quote: "Advanced V12+6 Power Phase Design" control which doesn't match up with the original 8+4 phase control printed on the box??? Need to research this more smile.gif

1) Z77 E6 (1.10bios) ... Yes finally got the 2600K chip this weekend, I must say this is a very polished product. Bios is clean and snappy AND all my USB mice worked right 1st time! So far the board even runs cooler that my Z68/E4 ... However I was following Sean's OCN SSD install guide and if you don't load your MB drivers 1st contrary to his guide you may loose mouse control when you leave the bios and get to the Win7 loading window ... I thought ohhh crap, here we go the dreaded ASRock/funky (DOA?)USB port bug ... BUT I just hot-plugged over to a USB2.0 and everything was fine after I finished the MB drivers ... today she goes in the box with real cooling for official OC/benching smile.gif

Really like the looks of the z77 extreme6, considering swapping my Z68x-UD4-B3 for it if it overclocks well. Been annoyed that my lower end Asus p67 board overclocked much easier and with less volts than the UD4 I am using right now.
