I got the same message when setting up my system (see sig)l I installed Win 7 HP 64-bit in IDE mode, and I got that message. I then did that registry hack and changed my system to AHCI and then I was able to install the Intel RST drivers. I eventually made a few more hacks and now can go back and forth between rAID, AHCI, and IDE. I am using RAID as I have a 60G SSD caching my 1TB Black Caviar via the RST Acceleration program. I love it, works great, as well as my dedicated ssd on my i7 Lynfield system.

More important I'm not clear if you got PCI-Ex16#1 working again? ... or are you now using #2 slot? Well if you have to RMA, it seems to be a 100% positive experience around here! Except were still waiting for "Wicked" to tell us how his RMA'd Z68/E4/G3 performed once he got it back :O

Yeah, Im not much of an "RMA" kinda dude... I buy replacement plans so when Crap breaks, I take it back.Oh Im gettin a new board, just might not be a AsRock... Or a z68....

Anyone else running the Beta L2.03 Bios on an E4G3 board?

I installed it last night and its running like a champ so far, but I noticed Asrock took it off their site, I'm wondering if there was a problem with it.

Running the beta BIOS here. No problem so far. Got me a little worried that my motherboard rebooted itself twice during flashing, but all good. thumb.gif

ASRock and Asus think/build alike (use to be the same guys) ... the only potential problems I'm seeing is (see below) can't "flashback" to older/original bios, but i don't even know if it applies to the Beta L2.03 ... the trouble is with the MEI driver version (7 vs 8) Intel Management Engine ... Personally I didn't get to the Beta L2.03 on my Z68, and I feel your aprehension, when ASRock pulls a Bios so fast frown.gif But on the "bright side" I'm sure they will provide you with a FREE bios chip and I'd certainly request one in your case weather you need it or not! smile.gif!

Yes,
I have installed MEI ver.8 until I saw I got wrong reading in TouchBIOS.,so I am back to v.7.
No any other gain with MEI v.8.
btw,
ASUS try to implement latest ME8 in their BIOS's for P67/Z68 (last two weeks) series and now customers have a serious problems, since they can't flash back..

Can you flashback to your original bios? I didn't read far enough to see what "mis-readings" were in the TouchBios?
Not a problem if your bios is working well for you!

Maybe I haven't dig too much, but why is everyone trying to install Intel MEI? From what I gathered it is for remote PC management. Something most consumers won't be bothering.

Installed the beta bios and instantly panicked. My pc restarted 3 times on its own and then when I started Windows all hell broke loose frown.gif It started in VERY low resolution and started adding new hardware. So before I could cancel out it used Windows updated drivers for everything and I mean everything including the chipset.
So I restarted and tried to redo all my drivers to only get a message saying that my Win 7 install is counterfiet and to contact MS. Shutdown again upon restart I get the nice message again about not being a valid install so I try to manually activate and it says my windows key is no longer valid.
Just got off the phone with MS and somehow my RETAIL key is no longer valid and they won't reactivate w/o me purchasing another key. So I used the key off my second machine and it worked. Problem now is with all the drivers properly installed I have 3 unidentified devices that I'm unable to find drivers for.
I guess Asrock pulled the bios for a good reason. I see that a few of you updated with no problems so I don't know what happened in my case. The one good thing about the update is my mouse now works flawlessly in the bios for the first time.
If anyone could explain to me my issues with MS it would be appreciated. In the mean time please think twice before updating.

Did you use OEM Windows? Even so keep arguing with MS. You did not replace the motherboard hence your key is still valid. Make sure to go into BIOS and properly adjust each settings (a BIOS flash messes up these settings).
