hey guys i will be getting the ASRock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3 LGA 1155, and a Intel Core i5-3570K Ivy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo) LGA 1155 processor, i want to use the HD 4000 integrated graphics for simple gaming, nothing like bf3 but more like world of tanks. will i have any compatibility problems with the bios or anything with the system?

Hmmm, blot thickens... check this guy's vid at 4:00. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AF8E6ZsJ7_4
He changes the fan speed and the rpm changes quite fast.

Great video thanks! He manually changed the fan speed in F stream. Mine is instant too using F stream. When mine takes a long time to ramp up it's when the CPU is under load and the system controls the speed. I assume your board is the same, you can choose level 1-10 which sets the idle speed and then the target temp which is when the fan(s) kick in to full speed once the CPU hits that target temp. That's where mine takes so long to ramp up is when the CPU hits that target temps and the fans kick in to full speed. When I noticed that changing the speed in F stream was so quick, that's when I figured it may have been a BIOS issue. I guess the only way to know for sure at this point is to get at least one 4 pin fan to find out. Although I'm like you, I'm not sure I believe what Asrock told me.

Anyone try the new 2.20 BIOS yet? Interesting "Dehumidifier" Feature

http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z68%20Extreme3%20Gen3/?cat=Download&o=BIOS

Edit: So the dehumidifier works by "automatically turning on the pc in S3/S4 states" Haven't tried it though. Its under the HW Monitor tab.

Talk about funny! Has anyone had their PC not power up due to humidity? Sometimes I've been away for several weeks, keep the house A/C at 76 while away, and PC starts up when returning home.

That was hilarious biggrin.gif ... What's the tech's name? Klingon ... yIDoghQo' ... Dehumidifier, sounds like he's talking about some futuristic human killing machine ...

De-Human-FIRE is that klingon dailect?rolleyes.gif

I could see this being a very useful feature if you live in the deep-south (USA) or Phillipines etc as stated +70% humididity. This actually happened to me once when i was working offshore in Louisiana (gone for 2 weeks) came back, computer wouldn't start and opened up the box to find it looked like a defrosted freezer inside W@F ... had to use a hairdryer to De-Human-FIRE it redface.gif

Unfortunately the tutorial also said this feature was for Z77 boards, I didn't see any Z68 boards on the list ... BUT for most of us in America De-Human-FIRE will never be an issue ... even @90% humidity it would take several days for the kind of condensation to build up to actually shut down a computer, unless your in a bad ventilated dark basement (Dungeon) ... with Klingon's? tongue.gif LoL

I'm in South FL, where the temps and humidity are 90+ for 6-8 months out of the year, but with the A/C set to 73-75 while home, or 76-78 while away, that keeps the interior humidity down (and I don't have a dehumidifier machine). Now if it lugged my heavy case outside and used it there, then it could be a problem, or if I left all the house windows open and didn't have A/C, which would be crazy to do as your be sweating inside all the time.
