Just wondering if there's anybody here who's managed to get tri sli working with 3 gtx 670/680 on a extreme7 gen board?
One of mine always gets a code 12 error.. Think it's probably a bios issue, as until I flashed to l2.22a I couldn't even get two to work.
Thanks!

Without more specific system specs rolleyes.gif, I'm not sure if this will help, but just 4-6 weeks ago, another member "Denny" had to contact ASRock directly to get a custom bios to even get his 680's running in SLI ...
Note: ASRock was very helpful/accomodating! thumb.gif You can read more about it [HERE] post#2505... hope that helps as a start biggrin.gif

As quicksync 2.0 "matures" you will be happier and happier with your decicision thumb.gif
BUT depending on your encoding demands today, you may be disappointed if your doing a majority of say H.264 transcoding ... I think overall 30% is a bit exaggerated, be careful of who's reviews you trust smile.gif[LINK]
Additionally you may find the 3770K harder to stably OC to keep up with or equal your 2600K @4.6GHz, if you plan to utilize an OC for encoding. Depends if you get a "golden" 3770K or not? ... OR plan on going full H2o cooling in the future to keep the Ivy temps under control?
Edit PS ... if I seem a touch negative about Ivy Bridge [HERE] post#1164 is why mad.gif It still pisses me off that Intel took shortcuts with it's IHS construction, degrading performance just to save a few $$$ (cents really) mad.gif

One of the good things about using Quicksync is it doesn't stress all available threads at 100% like pure software encoding does. I typically sit at 80% cpu usage while encoding with Quicksync but still get the benefit of about 30% more encoding speed at around 5-6 degrees cooler temps on the cpu. That's why i'm not too worried about hitting 4.6ghz with my 3770k, as I figure anything around 4.4ish and the improved QS should give me nice gains anyway.
For gaming I only play Diablo 3 and WoW so I have another BIOS OC profile which runs at 4.0ghz and drops voltage and temps even further down. I don't notice any real fps difference and my cpu temps never pass low 50's.

I should have the new chip in the next 5 days so I will be flashing my BIOS and installing as soon as it gets here. I will be running it hard to see if my Silver Arrow can keep it under control.

Hopefully my system spec will be up now...

I contacted Asrock over a week ago, but they haven't responded at all yet, so don't know if they're doing anything about the problem.

At the moment I'm really just looking for the comfort of finding someone else with the same problem, so I know its not just me!tongue.gif

If I install the cards as described in the manual in pcie 1, 4, 6 then I get a code 12 error on one of the cards. I can get all cards recognised by putting them in 1,4,5 but the card in 5 will not connect in sli with any of the other cards...

Right on ... like me your one of the few guys I've seen that utilizes the different bios profiles for different tasks thumb.gif Let us know how it all shakes down wink.gif

Yea tri-SLI isn't supported w/slot 5 ... I haven't seen any Tri-SLI guys regularly in this thread you might try posting in the Nvidia thread [HERE] for comiseration ... BUT like Denny you have got a "resource" problem that I think will only be cured with the proper Bios ... If you reside in the states? ASRock is really quite good with CS ... I'd call them direct to speed things along ....

I have been running tri sli since I got the board with no issues. I would suggest swapping the cards around and if possible try 3 other cards. If Asrock doesn't help you PM me and I'll send you a bios to try. Worked with 680s so should work on yours. I ran 3 680s for a week before I lost my job and I had no problems with the stock Asrock bios. Good Luck smile.gif

I finally got the adapter to mount my Xiggy DK to my 2500K yesterday. I tried overclocking but ran into some issues. Started out too high I guess, and wound up with data corruption, with a 0x0 bsod.

I ran checkdisk and fixed the errors, and reset my UEFI to a lower setting, and got a 0X124, more than likely from too much Vcore. I have a great deal of experience with C2D overclocking, but Sandy is a bit new to me. Im gonna give it another go after work today.

Cant wait to get to 4.5ghz on my Extreme3!

0x124 means not enough Vcore (at idle or at load or both)
