Oh, I didn't see they released a new bios! I will try this.
Everything works perfect in 7, though. No BSODs, nothing.

What are your hard drives set to in the BIOS, IDE, AHCI, RAID?
I'm wondering if that could be an issue.

I have them set to AHCI, but tried with the IDE setting. Still the same thing.
Yesterday I updated the bios to the 2.31A with high hopes as it said "Windows 8 Ready", but I got exactly the same thing. Black screen, no errors. I waited for half an hour, but nothing happened, so I gave up. Should I send an email to Asrock?

I keeps sounding like there is a driver issue that is causing Win 8 to not install.
Contacting ASRock would be a good idea. Also, maybe if you can install your hard drive on a friend's PC and use it to install Win 8, then put the Hard Drive back in your system?

Yeah, I thought of that too, but I can't find the time to do it. I'll probably try this in the summer.

So, I contacted asrock and they were kind enough to send me a new bios chip. I am surprised by their spectacular support. So is replacing the bios rom chip a job I can do on my own?
