Your set up for ivy and you'll be ready for 3.0 gpu's so all is well. I cant see spending $500 on graphics. Not when performance to price is so drastic. 6850's crossfire not to shabby.Maybe dish out more for the 6970 so I get 3D. Your looking good whatever you decide.
If I do RMA the board it would be on the manufacturer newegg's RMA policy is within 30 days of purchase I believe so I would wait at least 4 weeks minimum to get a replacement board back

As for the amount I dont mind shelling out alot for a painless, headache free desktop I shelled out $4500 on a DELL Pentium 4 3.40 gh HT with a ( back then ) top of the line card an ATI X1900 XT video card on 2003 I believe it lasted me till 2008's when the old bird started to show her age

NEVER gave me issues for a good 4 - 5 years played every games even up to now but since IT IS getting old I needed a replacement

Next investment 2400 laptop +500 for a 3 year extended warranty was a Toshiba Sattelite X200 gaming laptop 2008 - recently RIP June 2011 with 2.2 ghz Core 2 Duo & Dual Nvidia GFX cards very reliable again till her 2nd year ending when she started having heat issues even then I would just drop it to the repair depot without paying a penny and get it back in 4 weeks

Thats why when I do build I like to build that will last me 4 - 5 years having TWO radeon 6990 will do me just that first one I will purchase in 2 weeks, next one a month after that

You still have a great rig. If you can just afford to buy another board then do it and RMA the old one. No waiting. I didn't get a chance to look last night for a cure. Any chance it can be the case connection? Just a thought. Also the His6970 is on sale for around $200. I'm considering it but I don't know. I've been waiting for November to get some good deals on the rest of what I want. Everytime I review something(especially on newegg) the people who write the reviews seem to have paid much less when they made their purchase like 6 months ago. It pisses me off and I can't see paying more. So I wait. Anyone else notice this?

Megalith prices go up and down on equipment often. Just have to look out for the best deal possible. I've gotten some excellent deals for all my goodies. I'm on like several e-tillers email lists so they can send me their deals to be had.

Once the next generation stuff hits the streets be aware that all last gen stuff will drop like leafs on a cold day in Boston. Lol!

lol. It's price gouging. Fricken market speculators driving the prices of drives through the roof. There double the price in some case more than a month ago. Then retailers list them on sale. Funny. They make billions gouging these prices and they say it's because a plant was flooded that incorporates parts for the drive and supply/demand is the reason. B.F.S. That money won't reach the afflicted. Just going to line pockets of fat cats. Let the ill-moral and unethical run the world, have them never be punished or face consequence for criminality and this is what we get. 3 years later and nobody fired or put in jail for the biggest ponzi scheme in america. So they keep doing it because they can.

You should only have to use the two 6 pin connectors. Better yet post a picture so we can see what your doing.

Can't really see it as the rads blocking it, but u see the molex line, I connected it to the 4-pin molex connector above the PCIE slots... I shouldnt need it?

I see the molex above the GPU. Why is it there? Move it out if you don't need it. You have Cooler Master HAF922 which that case allows you to have excellent cable management.
