Where is the wireless KB/Mouse receiver plugged in? If it's in a case port (like on the front of the case) try switching it to a USB port directly on the mobo. Also, USB to PS/2 adapters can be flaky. Has the one you have worked before?

Just throwing this out there. My sig rig is up and running hackintosh with absolutely every part or hard ware working as expected. Only thing is my Wireless card causes problems with Mac Appstore. But yeah, works perfectly. I use it more then windows now.

The Wireless, is plugged into a different computer, I am not using it on the one I am setting up now.

I got around the problem by taking the ASrock installation CD out, before rebooting the system. Then it goes back into Windows, and when I put the ASRock CD back in at that point, it finished installing everything else. I think, the initial problem is that I had the BIOS set to boot off the CD Drive so I could run my Windows installation earlier.

Unfortunately, by BIOS is still going berserk when I go into it now. Racing through each of the pages as though someone were holding down an Arrow Key on the keyboard, and there is nothing I can do inside it.

Other then that, Windows is working just fine!

However, I did find that the ASRock CD installed something called Zynga Games. I don't want it, and can't find a way to get rid of it, as there is no uninstal option for it. Its not on my menu, not in my installed programs list, and there is nothing on the CD to uninstall it. I am thinking it installed piggyback off one of the other Utilities that came from the CD, though I'm not sure.

I accidentally selected INSTALL ALL, from the ASRock CD because that was an option on the Drivers window, but it apparently installed EVERYTHING, off the CD... including all the Untilities and Software Apps that were on it. I am in the process of uninstalling some of the ones I don't want... like the Norton stuff. I prefer Microsoft Security Essentials. But what other "utilities" are not worth it, that I should remove? I've read that people like this XFast LAN thing, but it keeps popping up on my screen every time I boot, and not sure how to make it not keep popping up like that...

Figured out how to get rid of the ZYNGA stuff.

It piggybacked off the SmartView for IE utility on the ASRock CD. Since I don't use IE, I got rid of that and now the ZYNGA stuff is gone!

BIOS is still all wonky and berserk though, can't do anything in it right now... have no idea why its doing what its doing when it was working fine before. It started, after I first started installing all the Windows drivers off the ASRock CD...

Hello, ladies and gents. Just bought the Ext3/Gen3 and an i7-2600K not so long ago, saw this forum come up in google and decided that it has a nice, healthy plethora of individuality to help me overclock the snot out of it. So far I've managed to get it to come up with a multi of 52 and bclk of 96.0, lots of trial and error and being peeved (

Now for the help question (before I do a little light reading and hit the hay): why does my multi and frequency always take a dip to 40-41 and (corresponding freq) when I start up Prime95? I disabled everything but the kitchen sink circuit in the BIOS, all the thermal settings and C1E, State this and State that, SpeedStep (KillJoySetting, should be called)... still drops my multi and freq in P95, and when that happens I can't tell if I'm doing a good oc or not because the way I see it I need to know if the load I have it at is good or not, too hot, whathaveyou. Know what I mean, Verne?

Thank you for any replies, will be back tomorrow afternoon (evening, really) for any knowledge any of you would care to type up.

This sounds like an issue with the Turbo Boost power limits. I believe the defaults are 95W long duration, and 137W short duration, which you can easily hit when overclocking.

Change the Turbo Boost Power Limit setting in the UEFI to Manual, and increase the values to what you're comfortable with. I personally just set them to 500W, to keep this from ever happening, but if you want to make sure your system won't overstress its power supply, you could set a more appropriate maximum.

So if I have the Intel SpeedStep disabled, and the Turbo Boost is disabled by extension, the Turbo Boost can still limit my overclocking and throttle back the oc? Ugh. So, to be clear, I just need to: enable Speedstep, go into Turbo Boost and set the limits to 500, and then leave it on? Or do I set the limits and then disable Speedstep (thumb.gif

That's it, no more using parenthesis... keeps cutting out everything I typed after! mad.gif

As I was saying, I disable Speedstep -almost typed 'Speedstop', another good name for it- but the new Turbo Boost set limits should still apply? Will give it a go tonight, thanks for the insight, Jim. thumb.gif
