When i used the Bios auto 'Turbo 50' setting it works 100% solid at 4.8ghz but it uses 1.44Vcore.
I want a lower Vcore... I try to set it manual at 4.8ghz but i cant boot with any setting ive tried.
Anyone with similar setup running at 4.8ghz manual bios settings care to post their exact bios settings to compare and see *** am i missing?
thx....

Have you tried something lower like 4.5GHz first?

Well i played around with it more and until i get the thermal past broken in here is my prime i ran for an hour i have the vcore set to 1.415, level 2, and CPU PLL at 1.709. I have had the vcore down to 1.400 but i get an error on one of the threads. Until I can get the temps down under 80c on 5GHz on a prime im putting it back down to 4.8 so i can drop my vcore.

Any ideas on how to keep it stable on a lower vcore. Or other ways to drop temps...

Why not try the 1.709v fir PLL voltage? 1.832v seems a bit high. You can always start with a low PLL voltage and work your way up to see what works fro you. I've read higher PLL voltage isn't always better.

Agreed, lower it a bit, that is pretty high. What OC are you at? You could probably even disable it.

ok well...

i used 1.709 as you suggested - booted into windows and ran prime95 for about 10min on blend...no crashes
so i tried intel blend on HIGH and that finished fine as well - so far so good

then i tried 3DMark Vantage soon as it scanned my comp it crashed - however i tried on standard clocks and it still crashes i'll give BF3 a play and if it can stand taht ill do a overnight prime and see how it goes

also temp wise how high is too high on the i7 2700ks?

cheer guys

Just tried and no dice now it wont even boot with those settings since i revereted back to 4.5Ghz

ah screw it how much benefit can there be between 4.5Ghz Vs 5.0Ghz

Can anyone verify if these settings are safe for a 24/7 OC? I'm running a ASRock extreme3 gen3.

2600k@ 45*100 = 4500 Mhz

Turbo Boot Power Limit - Manual
Short Duration Power Limit (watts) - 250
Long Duration Power Limit (watts) - 250
Long Duration Maintained (sec) -1
Core Current Limit (watts) - 250

Load Line Calibration - Level 2
DRAM - 1.49v
VTT - 1.047
VCCSA - .925v
PCH 1.059 v
PLL - 1.791v

vCore set to auto in bios.

Max vcore at these settings in bios shows up as 1.304, in windows CPU-Z and AXTU reports 1.28 as the voltage under full load.

Are these settings completely safe for 24/7 use?

UPDATE: I have changed my vcore from auto to offset of -0.010v.
The bios now reports a max voltage of 1.296 and the max I see under full load with CPU-Z/AXTU is 1.264v.
