If you are looking for a simple 4.5OC, I would do the following.
use manual voltage - find out how much you need.
forget about the offset voltage, it basically does the same thing as manual, but you have to do the math in your head to find out what actual voltage you are resulting with.
Turn off C1E, C3, C6 states. Enable Turbo core. Make sure all the power saving features are disabled, turn the max wattage of all the settings in the bios to 500 or 300 (some go to 500, others go to 300)
I run my PLL voltage at 1.79 or whatever 1 step BELOW stock is.
LLC level 1 - for a constant Vcore (or as close as you can get)
I would say a good starting point on the Vcore is 1.35. Go up or down from there.

I'm looking for like a template for all the power saving settings and such(settings other than v-core & multi). Also I am having a hard time understanding the offset voltage vs the fixed voltage. I read some where that sandy bridge likes lower pll voltage than stock? As well as a level 1 llc for a 4.5 ghz oc.
Sorry for all the questions. It would just be nice to get answers from fellow members with asrock boards
Thanks a lot guys. Cheers

I explained LLC back on page 83(?). LLC will determine your range from min-max VCore. There is no set level of what is best, it all depends on your settings and what you're aiming for.

Some can be going for 5.0GHz and be best at LLC of 2 and some could be going for 4.5GHz and be best at LLC of 5 or 1. All LLC does is widen or narrow the range of min-max VCore. I was curious to see the differences in each level in terms of VCore so last night I tested a .08 offset with all five levels.
Level 1: 1.07-1.38
Level 2: 1.07-1.42
Level 3: 1.06-1.46
Level 4: 1.08-1.5
Level 5: 1.08-1.55
So it looks like each level just increases the VCore range by adding .04 to the max VCore. As opposed to the MIVE that would add .02 to max VCore and subtract .02 from the min VCore. basically giving you the same .04 range difference.
I wanted to lower my min VCore using Level 4 LLC so I changed my offset to .06 and now it runs about 1.05-1.40 @ 4.8 GHz.

If you have a higher offset you might need a lower LLC even if you're going for max OC'ing. It all depends on how low you want to get your min VCore.

Finally got myself up and running with this board and a 2500k..

went to microcenter and bought a set of corsair vengeance ddr3 1600 2x4gb sticks, and now all is well, so the g.skill sniper 1866 sticks i got from newegg were bad

I am new to intel overclocking, and dont really have a set overclock in mind, I want to see how far I can go and keep it simple

I notice alot of vdroop on this board, so right now I am at level 2 llc (at level 3 llc the vcore was still dropping between 1.208 and 1.216), and 1.25v vcore, and dropped the pll voltage to 1.75 and running at 4.5 right now

using the quick and dirty sandybridge oc guide in the sandy stable club, i ran the 1344 an 1792 primes and so far so good

i disabled spread spectrum, because it was causing the bclk to be 99.7, so now that it is off i am at 100

temps during the 1344 and 1792 runs (15 minutes each) were 57-59 across all cores, so I definitley have some wiggle room

I am going to play a little more tomorrow and then finally do an overnight prime run when the temps start getting too high

Am i pretty much on the right track? the llc pretty much just tries keeps the vcore as close to what it is set at in the bios right?

I also have c1e, c3 and c6 enabled for now..if i remember correctly, these only really need to be disabled if you are using offset?

one thing im noticing, and i cant figure it out...my mouse when i turn my pc on or restart is off and doesnt work, but when i click one of the mouse buttons, the leds come on and it works??

Happens regardless of what port i plug it into, and it doesnt happen at all to my keyboard??

any ideas?

I had to use the USB 2.0 ports ( I think they are the red ones) on the back for mouse & keyboard until I install the 3.0 drivers from the MB CD.

I had to enable it to allow me to set the max core current settings to 500. I dont remember exactly what they are called, but they are about half way down the OC tweaker page

Whats wrong with just using the presets already on the board?

Ive read lots of "Sandy Bridge overclocking guides" on different forums, and they all seem to have contradicting information. Seems like the easiest option would be to just use the preset and run with it.

The settings may be higher than needed,( volts) giving you high temps
