ASRock doesn't have the best fan control. I think a lot of people can agree on that.

Yup. It's something that SHOULD be easily fixed with a software and/or BIOS update. If they ever do, I hope it's available to us and not just the boards that happen to hit the market at the time.

I am using fixed voltage for now, and it is set to 1.320, and I have LLC set to level 2
Under load, most of the time, I am seeing it fluctuate between 1.304 and 1.312v, but at certain times, I see it dropping to 1.288 and 1.296?? What gives?
My previous (unstable) prime blend run was at 1.31v, LLC 2, and voltage would constantly fluctuate between 1.288 and 1.296, but why is it still doing it when I have it set to 1.32?
Should I switch it to LLC 1?
Yeah I found that LLC 2 still resulted in drop/droop so I set it to LLC 1. No problems.

I don't have any problems... my V6GT fans are the only really loud ones and it only spins up at 60c smile.gif

Anyone know how to disable the board from giving usb/ps2 devices power when the rig is off?

I had the same issue with my previous AMD build (gigabyte mobo) and it was some energy saving setting in the bios that I had to disable to kill the power.

I have power on from usb and power on from ps2 disabled, and disabled all the sleep functions I could find in the BIOS....

Anyone have any ideas?

My mechanical keyboard and mouse leds stay lit when I turn the rig off and its starting to annoy me lol

This maybe what your looking to do.
In windows > Control panel > Power options >
On the left side, you want to create a power plan....what do you want the power button to do? I think somehow your system is set to sleep. The idea here is to have a total shutdown.

hey guys sorry to bother you, I was trying to scroll through some of the pages and search before I just started spewing questions all over threads but my eyes are bleeding lol. So here is my question and new rig.

PSU - Seasonic 760W gold modular
CPU - i5 2500k
CPU Cooler - Corsair H100
Mobo - *ASRock Extreme4 Gen3*
Ram - Corsair xms3 8GB 1600
GPU - Evga GTX 580 SC
SSD - Vertex3

I am having a hard time getting anything stable on this when I OC it. When I do get something stable (Shooting for 4.8 to 5ghz stable) the CPU reads @ 4.8 GHZ then drops down and back up and down and back up. One time my windows test shows 7.5 cpu the next it shows 7.7.

Would any of you that are running 4.8-5ghz stable on a similar setup be kind enough to share your settings so I can toy with them from there? I do not know where I am going wrong but I am obviously missing a step or 10 in there somewhere.

Also (kinda off topic) but if you have a similar setup did you OC your ram and what timings were you able to pull? I just keep getting bsod when I change the timing from anything other than 9-9-9-24. Thanks ahead of time!

This is a Great Thread, I'm actually looking in a Z68 EXTREME4 GEN3 & ASUS P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3. Doing all the reading & looking @ Benchmarks as much as I can. Both boards are solid. My main concern is reliability over time.
