Does BF3 Favor Nvidia Cards?

So I remember from Bad Company 2 that the game seemed to favor Nvidia cards over ATI cards when it came to FPS, even cards which should essentially trade blows like 560ti/570 and the 6950/6970. Starcraft 2 does the same thing, drastically favoring Nvidia cards. Now I noticed that Nvidia are actually sponsoring BF3. Did anybody notice favoring Nvidia/ATI cards in the Alpha/Beta? Do you think it will in the full game and do you think I should go with a 2GB 560ti now rather than flashing a HD6950 if it will favor Nvidia cards anyway?

It will most certainly "favor" them once the full release comes out with tessellation.

Agreed..? Haha I think I'll go with the Nvidia on the off chance that it is. It will probably be what I primarily play the next few years so it should be worth it. I'll just fork out the extra money for the 2GB 560ti since it seems BF3 can exceed 1400mb VRAM.

I don't know where you got any of these stats from. Especially seeing as SC2 performance is usually dictated by the CPU and most high end GPUs perform the exact same. And BC2 didn't favor nVidia cards.

Difference between 560TI and 6950 if it does favour Nvidia cards is <10 fps. Assuming your like everyone else and likes to have them at 60+fps then the difference is neglible..

Get whats cheapest and fits other criteria.. I put too much thought into mine and in the end just went for the 6950 1GB and I know I'll have upgraded in 12 months so why bother worrying too much smile.gif
