Mm that's odd. My old q6700 @3.4 was bottlenecking my 6950 pretty hard. I needed a minimal of 3.6 to eliminate most of the bottleneck. I know the q9... series is a better chip then the q6... but still, a 580 is better then a 6950 too.

Well.. I do not run multiple monitors, I just play everything on my 42" TV which is located right next to my 19" monitor... I've played hours of BFBC2 with every settings on maximum and cpu usage is like... 60% 70%, and I'm getting solid 110-120fps (unless when there are like 10 players on my screen, but that's normal lol)

What I mean is: If you play everything on 1920x1080 you should be fine... the cpu can handle it with no problems..

q9xxx is like Phenom II x4, it won't be the cause for less then 60 FPS on 1080p or lower in any game, even with GTX 580.
