HD595 need Amp with Soundcard?

Thread Starter
Was wondering if I should honestly bother with an amp for these cans on a Creative SB Xi-fi card. I don't plan on using this with any portable devices~ only my PC for gaming and music and movies. It's plenty loud as it is already~ but was wondering if I'd see a noticeable improvement in clarity for gaming and music with some kind of headphone amp. Thanks in advance. <3

Short answer: No.
For the money, you're better off upgrading the soundcard.

agreed

the 595 are only 50 ohms , even on-board sound can drive them
so if you gonna buy a new sound no need to worry about that thing

Coolios, good looking out, ty.

I got the Creative X-Fi you see in my sig~ it was used so I didn't spend anything for it. Works great, no issues~ am I in the right to think I won't really see a difference in sound for music if I upgrade? Are there really better options for sound cards for a headphone user? :3

since it`s good and you dont have any problem with it ,then keep it

unless you gonna buy one of those cards the upgrading is not worth it

Creative Titanium HD
Xonar Essence STX
Auzentech (Forte , Bravura , Home Theater HD)

those all are above 100$

or :
X-Fi titanium

Xonar DX (70$)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16829132006

those can show big difference , but also those are not very cheap

EDIT: forget to mention HT Omega cards , those cards are more to music than gaming cards
the only con about them is that they are all PCI (except for 180$ eClaro)
