Blows my mind.

Yes and no. There are YEARS between revamps of the ARM cpu design. The ARM A8 was the standard for over 2 yrs. I would have liked to buy the first ARM Cortex A8 CPU, and ride the speed train for those 2 yrs.

I would NOT want to buy the ARM Cortex A8 phone, just to have all Cortex A9 phones come out one month later.
you should take time to look at this the samsung just did a pwnage on the A5 in web load

EDIT:
Found a link here with more SunSpider scores
http://www.bestsmartphone.com/2011/0...pt-benchmarks/

EDIT2:
Sorry didn't see the first page with changed numbers in OP

Nice find. It shows what I've been saying all through this thread, go with a 3rd party browser on Android and most these benchmarks would suddenly look very different for Apple.

It's funny how anti-Apple this forum is, yet there are many Apple threads with more views than many other unrelated threads.

Haha, oh well. People pick sides for no real reason other than to have something to do. As far as my brand loyalty goes, I just pick what gives me the best bang for my buck. I haven't liked ANY of the Android phones I've touched, as they're all freaking huge. iPhone 4S for me!

OS optimization and (iirc) browser speed are what it comes down to, running a custom ROM makes the SGSII destroy the iPhone 4S, as does running Firefox mobile or Opera Mobile.

Fairs fair.

The difference between the phones would only be noticeable in one thing, games, because the SGSII is so damn fast I can't even make mine stutter, the iPhone 4S has a slower CPU (Same/very similar design, lower clock speed) but better OS optimization.

I dunno. Just me I guess, not very up to speed on phone components.
Using my brothers iPhone 4 next to my iPhone 4S, you can see its slightly slower, saving HDR photos for example. Both running iOS 5 of course.

That iphone 4s looks like a pretty killer upgrade path from my 3GS

Not sure if i'm elligable to upgrade and still be tied into my Grandfather/unlimited internet data, texting, call to any phone in any state plan though.
