What to do next?

Thread Starter
So i have gotten my 555be up to 4.03 Ghz stable using just the multiplier and upping the vcore slightly, to 1.475 (went up to 1.5, then found lowest was stable at). And now i was wondering what i can do to try and squeeze any more out of it? I have fought viciously with it trying to unlock another core or 2, but cant seem to get it stable if i unlock, no matter what. I dont really know how to mess with other settings.

There are two steps that could bring some more performance: OCing the CPU-NB & L3 cache and after that upping RAM clock speed and/or tightening timings. @4GHz you should benefit a faster CPU-NB and higher RAM speed.

any good guides on working with those two? also, i just noticed cpuz wasnt showing my oc, so i googled it and it said disabling c1e would fix it. so i did that and it now shows it in cpuz, but now running p95 makes it restart.

cool&quiet and c1e will undervolt and underclock the cpu when idle
best to turn them off before starting your oc

how were the temps?

The temps seemed to vary between programs, but the highest i think it showed was only like 57 or 58 C, and that was when i had both OCCT: Linpack and and P95 running.

I had CnQ turned off already, but when i tried turning off C1E when i found out that was why my OC wasnt showing in cpuz, it fails the very first test in P95. Before i turned it off, cpuz didnt show my OC, but windows and easytune6 did.

See how far the your RAM and CPU-NB go.

Then save your highest stable clocks

Then redo everything with some HTT overclocking and compare benches.

After you've squeezed the last drop of performance out of your rig: look for the lowest voltages

That's what I used to do... I had a lot of time then ^^

Well, i couldnt get it stable at 4.0 ghz again for some reason, so i backed it down to 3.9 still at 1.5 Vcore. The temps where still fine, coming up as 43C-46C in core temp, 40C-54C in Easytune6, 35C-46C in HWMonitor. Would it be safe for me to keep bumping up the vcore to try and get it stable at 4.0 ghz or more? Or is that voltage too much?

*EDIT* I forgot to mention those where the temps while running p95 blend for 12 hours.
