Have a go on a game like fallout3 or new vegas to see if you like the idea of RPG's.

I find COD to be a very good pick up and play shooter. Fast paced and easy to get into the thick of it.

Hard to compare the two as they are not direct competitors though.

Skyrim leans more towards action than RPG compared to older Elder Scrolls games. If you like exploring large worlds and going into dungeons to kill enemies and get loot, Skyrim should be a good choice.

I got both and regret getting MW3, games not bad just the same thing over and over. My votes for Skyrim hands down.

without a doubt skyrim should be added to your gamescollection

Skyrim for the win!

But I'm biased because I don't like mindless shooting games anyway.

Definitely Skyrim, it's simply great. Even though it has a ton of bugs at the moment.

Really enjoying that game even though I was really doubtful about it at first since I never really liked anything else but the soundtracks in Morrowind and Oblivion.

SKYRIM, just look how many more people play it on steam than MW3, that alone should tell you something.

I know that feeling, I've never really been interested in RPG's (or was), I started to play Borderlands a few months ago and completely loved it, pulled the trigger on Skyrim and it's by far one of the best games I've ever played.
btw, graphics aren't "wow" but they're pretty decent. I guess I'm used to Crysis and BF3, but they're still pretty good.
