Which Dell monitors to buy?

If money was not an issue, than what 2 x monitors would you go with for FPS/WOW game play?

U2312HM
U2311H
U2410
U2412M

For FPS, the u2410 is a bit too slow. it has 30ms of input lag, which becomes a problem if you use twitch motions in FPS games. Not a problem for everyone, but for a great percentage of users.

The other three are all good for FPS gaming. I'd recommend the u2412m for the added resolution. On the desktop, for the most part. Might also benefit you in WOW if it allows for more space for the HUD.

How much FPS games do you play, though? If it's a lot, a 120hz monitor would be nicer. If you still desired the quality of IPS everywhere else, you are buying 2 anyways, you could get one of each type.

U2312HM cause of only 1 ms input lag.

Also U2311H is allright!

U2410/12M are work monitors only because of wrong aspect ratio for games.
I'd say either u2410 or u2412m. If you don't need what the u2410 offers over the 12m, I'd go with the u2412m personally. But both are fine choices.

This is of course, taking in money as a factor.

If money not involved, for RTS and WOW, I think u2410 would be a superior choice.

Go here: http://tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/dell_u2412m.htm

Go to #Dell u2410 comparison. For a comparison of the two, read that.

EDIT: Don't worry too much about what hydros posts. He's a 16:9 fan to the extreme, willing to ignore all the upsides of 16:10 just because 16:9 has a wider field of view in games. And because there are 2 games out there that don't support 16:10. Essentially all his posts are trying to convert people to 16:9 fans.

So yeah. Don't take it too seriously. Any aspect ratio is fine for gaming.

Well. That facts speaks for it self.

There are plenty of games that does not support 16:10 leaving 16:10 users with a letterbox. And the amount of games that lack 16:10 support are increasing rapidly! It is just a matter of time before most games wont support 16:10.

Some examples of games that does not support 16:10.

2009
Mirrors Edge

2010
Blacklight: Tango Down
WRC FIA World Rally Chamionship 2010

2011
Assassins Creed Brotherhood
Alice: Madness returns
Bastion
Bulletstorm
Driver: San Francisco
Dungen Siege 3
Dungeons
Gatling Gears
Ghostbusters: Sanctum Of Slime
Limbo
Monday Night Combat
Ninja Blade
Pro Evulotion Soccer 12
Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena
Shank
Splinter Cell: Conviction
Witcher 2 (Before patched after many months)

And if you use a 16:10 display and dont get a letterbox you have lost field of view (1) or have a deformed picture (2). All three scenarios are things you would like to avoid.

1. Loss in Field Of View

2. Deformed picture
