Which Dell monitors to buy? - Page 2

Most of those games can be fixed. Loss of field of view is trade off for image clarity if the horizontal resolution stays constant

Deformed picture won't happen on the PC. And not on the console either if you do it right.

So it's all just preference. I for one, don't support the biased message I see above. It's too misleading of the actual situation.

@Furore

Have this in mind.

There are plenty of games that does not support 16:10 leaving 16:10 users with a letterbox. And the amount of games that lack 16:10 support are increasing rapidly! It is just a matter of time before most games wont support 16:10.

Some examples of games that does not support 16:10.

2009
Mirrors Edge

2010
Blacklight: Tango Down
WRC FIA World Rally Chamionship 2010

2011
Assassins Creed Brotherhood
Alice: Madness returns
Bastion
Bulletstorm
Driver: San Francisco
Dungen Siege 3
Dungeons
Gatling Gears
Ghostbusters: Sanctum Of Slime
Limbo
Monday Night Combat
Ninja Blade
Pro Evulotion Soccer 12
Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena
Shank
Splinter Cell: Conviction
Witcher 2 (Before patched after many months)

And if you use a 16:10 display and dont get a letterbox you have lost field of view (1) or have a deformed picture (2). All three scenarios are things you would like to avoid.

1. Loss in Field Of View

2. Deformed picture

Copy pasting your message to be read again doesn't help anyone. The fact is, you are leaving a biased message. To actually help the OP the most, we have to stay objective. Something you are not doing

All interesting comments thus far, and I appreciate your point of view Hydros.

I am just looking for more opinions based from people who have used the above monitors for WoW in windows mode specifically. I dont play any game in full screen mode very often as I am constantly multitasking. Hence the two monitor setup to leave me with another screen to multitask on.

I work on two screens on the job, and I am looking to carry over this increase in productivity to the home station.

The TFTCentral link I gave you pretty much sums it up between the u2412m and u2410.

i still recommend those.

And since you are playing in windowed mode anyway, hydroses point is null. You can put it at 1920x1080 in windowed mode if you really want, you're gonna have borders anyway.

The extra resolutions is really nice for desktop work. I still recommend getting the 24s

I agree that the 24s are going to be better overall. I think I might save a few hundred $$ and go with the u2412m as it seems to have everything I am going to need.

Thanks for your advice!
