steam mem leak

Thread Starter
ok, ever since the last steam update that happened a couple weeks ago, steam has had an issue, at least with me, with slowly increasing ram usage to almost 180mbs.

anyone else have this issue? i dont remember it being this bad before, i dont think it ever passed 100, now its almost to 200.

is there any kind of fix?

i noticed origin seems to as well, but not as bad, it never passes 90mb of ram.

Um,

Dude, you have 8GB of memory, it's really not going to hinder performance at all.

But yeah, mine runs at about 150mb but meh, i've got 6GB to burn through.

Mine's been opened for like 3 hours and it's only taking 24MB of RAM.

If some of your games aren't validated, meaning, if you launch them and it crashes andd you have to re-validate them then that can cause some general chugg in steam. Until you fix those games.

I had 2 games where it deleted 2gb of each game once i re-validated them, steam ran much nicer.

Who knows why, but it senses that your games are corrupted and gets mad >.<
