A game like Rage even in Console it will not do what good. Only hope it had was PC. PC games are the ones that make games such as this popular.

Actually i think the source engine games on ps3 are opengl. There might be more too.

As for Frostbite 2, you must be joking. With proper dedicated server and LAN support Modern Warfare 3 stands a much better chance of doing that, although truth be told the best chance right now likely stands with CS:GO if Valve manages to pull off the PS3/PC cross-platform play right. I'll take a solid, well-coded engine that only renders in DX9 over a buggy mess that was designed around DX10+ any day of the week. Tessellation can make a great game better, but it can't make a mediocre game great. Or even good.
To even say MW3 has a better chance of being the savior of PC FPS gaming than BF3 completely invalidates your argument. Period.

I also had little to no hit detection issues in BF3.

Also I wouldn't say that it's Nvidia/AMD's fault for lack of OGL support. I'd blame the devs for that. Why should they support OGL when SO little games ( I honestly don't know of any recent games aside from RAGE ) use it? That's iD's fault for their poor choice.

Once I manually fixed all the problems the developer should have taken care of, the game is a blast to play. Feels very old school, but in a good way. I can't remember the last time I got such joy out of just shooting something.

I've always preferred OpenGL to DirectX. Yeah some of you are graphics nutheads that are crazy about 'tesselation' but ID has been innovating on OpenGL since 2000. nVidia and AMD do bear the blame for not supporting a still valid renderer. DirectX is fairly restrictive in innovation too be quite blunt. The amazing megatexture engine would not have been even remotely possible on a DirectX renderer based game.
