In January, AT&T* announced plans to introduce 12 Android devices in 2011 and today AT&T confirmed that goal has been met and will be exceeded during the fourth quarter.
I bolded the main part for you.

First, thanks for your input. 2nd I'll eat a frog if anything you say is correct. Go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...90337&page=133 and this is eg22 "one of the stablest"

MIUI 1.9.30 on MY phone... I use wifi every day. And knowing that they don't have wimax phones in china, the epic miui is not going to have 4g. or be reliable.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1295515 I've been using this rom for 3 days and it hasn't rebooted at all. Wifi is one of the easiest things to fix and 4G probaly won't work like almost all other MIUI roms on other phones but WiMax is a luxury I only have it when I'm down town besides that I don't but I do turn it on every chance I have to enjoy 8MB/s

Haven't you say before that you don't care about 4g and that the iPhone is fine without it, and you don't need it. It looks like you care now.

Just because the epic didn't have that much support as you were expecting that doesn't mean that all other Samsung phone from now on wont have any kind of support.

Check the Samsung Galaxy SII with the incredible support it have. Even the Infuse have nice support, so expect this qwerty phone to have good support to.

I think that any company who dumps users or makes them wait more than half a year for updates to gingerbread suck.

Look @ the GSII support really means nothing to the users samsung dumped with froyo and "leaked updates"

Of course the flipside is the iPhone 3gs from 2009 just got ios 5 2 days ago, the same as the ip4. Can Samsung or any other manufacturer provide updates like that?

I prefer to have wimax if I am plugged in otherwise no. Mainly I think its absolutely silly to recommend miui as a "stable gingerbread build" when its missing wifi and 4g. (I used miui on the evo (a lot) so I do know how to do without 4g)

companies can improve.....lots of the time its not the manufacturers fault but the carriers that stall the updates mate

look at the SGSII (int'l version) they've got alot of updates since its been released bumping it up from 2.3.3 initially to 2.3.5 IIRC...
of course you can always turn to 3rd party ROM's like CM7 or other custom ROM's to get faster/better ROM's depending on your taste

lots of android phone manufactures know that if they don't update; they will loose customers ie. SE....look at them now? helping CM7 dev for their phones has definitely increased peoples attention at them.

Err... the Galaxy S II initially shipped with Gingerbread and TouchWiz 4.0.
