Razer Black widow - Should I be having buyers regret? - Page 2

I have the Black Widow Ultimate and I love it. I was kind of wary after reading all the negative comments on here also but I'm glad I went ahead and gave it a try. I can only say good things about it.

Cheers for checking with your brother.
I've not tried it in bios yet.

Just booted up my work powermac in Windows, unplugged existing keyboard and plugged this one in. None of the keys responded until I downloaded and installed the drivers.

Think i'll go knock on I.T's door and ask to borrow one just in case. They've normally got a few hanging about.

I'm happy with my Blackwidow Ultimate for the most part. I had some early issues with the space bar. Lubed it up with a tiny amount of white lithium grease and had to glue the white tabs into place. It works fine now.

I would just suggest you thoroughly check out the space bar. Others have reported issues with other keys sticking. Also, when i was cleaning the board with alcohol some got into the logo area and ate away some of the black paint on the inside so now it looks like there is a bubble there and the blue led shines through. However, that's only a cosmetic annoyance.

I've only used it quickly on my work computer but it seems ok. Don't like the gloss but I can fix that with a quick mod by making it brushed.

So any user impressions? Things I should be looking out for?

Also on my work computer the keyboard respond until I downloaded the software from Razer.
As this is the keyboard for a new build at home do I need to find another keyboard just for installing windows and setting bios?

Thought keyboards were pretty much plug and play...
Its not too bad, at least you didn't buy the Ultimate which is a waste of money lol. It is an entry level key board, that is about all you can say about the regular or the Ultimate.

When you want to step up to something nicer, take a look at Filco, Das, Wasd, Leopold, etc. Grab something with nkro to at least make it worth it.

I had a BWU, I liked it a lot and had no issues with it. The only reason I sold it was because I prefer smaller keyboards and I don't like blue switches.

I'd definitely disagree with Grief about it being 'entry level'. It has the same brand switches as most mechanical boards and has more features than most, so I don't see how it could be considered entry level aside from price. NKRO is nice, but the BW has 6KRO, so I guess if you like to press 7 keys at once than this may be an issue for you. I've got a Ducky and Noppoo and didn't see any quality differences between them and the BWU I had.

OMG YOU GUYS! the sound is what nailed me...so awesome! clickety clickety click all day! Looks pretty good, but it'd be nice if they added some LED in the keys. Had some trouble installing the drivers because it went weird and i couldn't control the keyboard...but i realized i was using macro keys so all fixed

The black widow is 6 key rollover? I thought it was only good for two outside of the gaming cluster.
