I can't find that on the scan website, but it looks fine

Right, so turn off cores, great, turn them back on when it's supported. Pointless. It still won't beat the i5 whether or not you like it. Yes it runs cool, yes you can overclock it, but you can overclock the i5 even further

deal gone now, I was too late as no time to compare UD3 to UD4

back to drawing board me thinks

Only thing that I can see is good re AMD is they stick to the socket longer & if I got 990 chipset, then its backwards compatible & bulldozer ready, whereas if I go 1155 socket, I doubt it will take a future cpu upgrade - is that right ?

Yes, but the one thing I would say is wait for the official benchmarks to come out in a few days. You might find that sandybridge still beats Bulldozer. I believe ivybridge will be supported on the 1155 chipset...

What website you using, i always find ocuk the cheapest and has the biggest range,

I found this for 350GBP - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...53&subcat=2064

PRICE INCLUDES!

- CPU: Intel Core i5 2500K 3.30GHz @ 4.40GHz Sandybridge CPU
- Motherboard: MSI P67A-G45 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard ** B3 REVISION **
- RAM: Kingston HyperX Blue 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel
- Cooler: Coolermaster Hyper 212 Cooler
- Artic Silver 5 Thermal Compound

Now that's value for money!! it cost me 330 for the cpu and mobo! let alone the cooler AND RAM!

But if you're not already using OCUK, DO!
