Suggest a vid card for my wife's rig

Thread Starter
Here are the Specs on my Wife's rig.

Asus P5Q Deluxe

q6600 g0 stepping

Corsair 600 Watt PSU

8GB Corsair XMS series DDR2 RAM

Dual Raptors Raid 0

Previous Card 9800GX2 (at the time the best single card solution they had to offer)

It appears that the 9800GX2 has finally bit the dust only one week after a bake.

So it is time to get another beastly single card solution for this rig.

The budget is $200 + shipping.

There will be no brand loyalties tied to the decision.

My wife plays The Sims 3, WoW, TF2, MW2, and will play Star Wars ToR.

Her display is a 22" 1680x1050 Max Resolution with the hopes of getting a 1080p in the far future.

Please backup your suggestions with opinions and or facts -_-

GO!

I'd say she would like a GTX460. I just sold mine and they are great cards. For the games listed it would be more than adequate. + they seem to OC really well if you want to do that. You can probably get an even better deal on a used 1 here or elsewhere. I sold mine for $85.00. Or like the guy above said fi she will let you get away with that.

Why would I give up my dual 460s for one 570?

Is it really more powerful?

Something in the range of the likes of a Radeon 6850/6870 and GeForce GTX 460 would be good for that CPU and those games. As you go higher, I think things will start bottlenecking more (especially if the CPU is at stock speeds), and I think such excess would be largely wasted on those games. It would give you more longevity for the future, more so if a platform change is done soon though.

560ti 1gb or 6950 1gb would work fine for now. If you're planning on a new 1080p monitor soon -- get a 2gb card.

The XFX Radeon HD 6950 Sounds like the best bet, but I think first I will pull my second 460 and let here take a whack at that.

If I do not notice any performance issues on the games I play. heck I might just hold off and leave SLi in the dust and grab a new GPU for myself.

Thank you all for the suggestions.
