Crysis Games Issue - with 120hz monitor

Thread Starter
So I recently picked up this new monitor... and am loving it... and will upgrade to the 27"

Samsung S23A950D 23" Widescreen 3D LCD Monitor
http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0368907

So I installed the drivers from the CD, and is able to set it at 120hz(through monitor properties), and every other game, such as Batman AA, Killing Floor, Rage, Portal 2, Battlefield 2 BC2, all run perfect and at 120hz...

BUT, then I try to run ANY Crysis; 1, Warhead and Crysis 2... the monitor simply gets a black screen at full screen... Works in Windowed mode but thats annoying...

I also have my GPU's connected to my 42" LCD which does works (set at 60HZ).

The first thing I tried was to disable the TV (as there might have been conflicts) and restarted the computer, but the same... just a black screen, and can hear the sound and ALT+Enter puts it to windowed mode which works, then doing it again leads to the black screen...

Any ideas and related problems? Only seems to be with Crysis and have never had issues with any other games on my GTX 580 SLI...

Using latest beta drivers 238.35...

Try only plugging one monitor into your card. I don't think you can have two monitors hooked up at the same time with one at 120Hz and the other at 60Hz.

Works fine with mine, works fine in 3d too. Must be card issues

Crysis may have sync issues. Try turning on/off the vsync. Beta drivers are causing a pain in my crysis games. try reverting to 275.33

Ugh, Crysis is a nightmare. It apparently also has a 60 Hz lock in full screen. You will see no benefit of using a 120 Hz monitor in crysis, and you will have to turn on v-sync to avoid tearing. At least that's what my experience has been.

Now that I think of it, maybe that's what is causing your issue. Did you say you forced 120 Hz on the panel itself, i.e., not through the nvidia control panel? Since crysis doesn't seem to work at 120 Hz fullscreen, maybe that's why you're seeing a black screen.

Thanks guys, but none seemed to have worked... I tried everything listed here except down grading the driver... still at 238.25 as it's currently not a 'big issue' for me...
I did try unplugging the TV to have just one display, and checked all Nvidia control panel settings to forcing V Sync off globally...

Definitely looks like syncing issues with just the Crysis engine...

I have a 120hz monitor with Nvidia SLI and the Crysis series sometimes gives me sync issues too. I had to create a manual resolution at the nvidia control panel settings so it can work properly.

Yeah I even tried that... 1920x1079 at 120hz with timings set to auto... in NCP
Still did not work and only get a blank screen....

I was however, able to get Crysis 2 to work with 3d SBS (side by side) in full screen...
