560ti hawk problem

Thread Starter
Just got my new 560ti hawk and installed it in the case. Updated drivers, installed MSI afterburner.
My problem is that I'm only seeing 822 Mhz core clock instead of 950 that it should be overclocked to in the factory.

What could be the problem?
overclock it

the default clock is 822MHz but it can be oced to 950 on stock voltage without any problem. Try it... push the core clock right a bit, until you reach 950 and test it with furmark.

Well, but why isnt it overclocked like it should be?
i don't know... do you have Sli it with a stock gtx 560 ti?

If not, just overclock it... pre-OCed card are only ref one with factory overclock. you just need to do it yourself, there's no big deal.

This is not a reference card that is pre oc-ed. Its a HAWK, maybe there is a bios switch that you switched by mistake? Also could be a bios putting stock clocks. As said above try to overclock it and see what you can hit, if its good keep it. If not RMA it .

i know it's hawk! noob

If he sli'd it with a stock 560 ti the clock would get equal to the lower core clock card ( ref.) if he doesn't i don't know where is the problem but a simple manual OC does the job better than rma for a week or more.

No, it's not SLI'd. I didn't switch the BIOS switch.
Shouldn't Afterburner say in the Graphics Card line - GeForce GTX 560 Ti Hawk or something ?
What you bought is a fake, you should return the card. It should be (FACTORY OC'd) You should not be the one doing the clock to 950Mhz. MSI should. If it's not OC'd when you receive it, then return it! It's what you paid for. Even if you tried switching to silent bios, the clock still should be 950Mhz.

Try using the MSI Afterburner 2.2.0 beta 8. "MSI N560GTX-Ti Hawk (P)" should appear, and the 280.26 WHQL drivers and see if it changes. Also try GPU-Z if it really tells you that the real clock is only at 820.

DEFAULT for MSI 560 Hawk should be 950/1050/1900.

Yep, wrong bios or it's not the ti. Test it first tho. You may be lucky and end up with a brill card. If not, send it back and just say your not happy, then you have another chance to get a high clocking card if you know what I mean

I clocked it up to 950 Core Clock, 2100 Memory myself. Works fine. Doesn't this limit my resale opportunities though? :S
And yes, with 2.2.0 beta 8 the MSI N560GTX-Ti Hawk (P) appeared.
