[Gizmodo]iPhone 4S Only Has 512MB RAM - Page 2

I bet Apple did a lot of testing, and figured out that 1GB of ram isn't usable.

Its pointless if you already have a 3GS or 4 and don't need the better camera yeah. There are plenty of people who will buy it who don't already have those phones though and it will be a huge upgrade for them.

Spot on.

People need to grasp the concept that Andriod OS' and iOS' are not optimized in the same fashion. Hardware is not a definitive benchmark for performance. I've used this argument before, look at consoles. xBox 360 was released in November of 2005. Two-thousand freaking five, yet still gets games that we enjoy on PC on much newer hardware.

An Android device can have 10GB of ram, it doesn't mean it's better than the iPhone / Windows Phone just because if either of the latter OS' are optimized better.

My Optimus V with Gingerbread has 425 MB of RAM and I've never had any issues. *shrug*

Might as well make it pointless upgrade a phone EVER, making all these new phones pointless.

Lyfskills, I upgrade my phones very frequently, sometimes twice a year. My last upgrade was in June. I had a pair of HD2s, sold them for $240 each, and got a pair of G2xs for $150 each. Why WOULDN'T I upgrade? I'll more then definitely run into the same opportunity when the Nexus Prime hits; I definitely have my eyes set on that one.

No. Just... no. The A5 is weak compared to Samsung's Exynos. Also, Android GB isn't that heavy on RAM. I do hate Apple, yes, but I am simply pointing out that the 4S is a flop of an upgrade for those who already own a 4.

Thanks to lack of hardware acceleration. But the Galaxy S2 has it. Thank God. Hopefully it'll be the new standard for all manufacturers to follow suit.
